Jerking awake Kitori sits up in the bed, his body soaked.
"Where am I why am I not in my bed?" Kitori asks himself. Looking around frantically he remembers where he is. Sighing he lays back down starting up at the ceiling.
"Will I ever get used to not being at the mountain home? I think today I will get Kinta to take me out so I can get used to being in crowds. " Kitori gets up and gets ready for the day his mind filled with thoughts of what he might see.
Walking into the kitchen Hana greets him with a wonderful smell of breakfast. Placing his plate in front of him she smiles.
"Sir what would you like to do today?" Ha ha asks him.
"Please sit and have your meal with me. I do not like sitting by myself. You and Kinta may think of this home as yours as well. I do not think of myself as a boss so you speak, I would like us to be more like a family." Kitori quietly tells Hana. Not knowing how she feels about him.
"Thank you for saying that. We can have our meals together when there are no guests. It will take some getting used to, but we can take things slowly." Hana looks at Kitori's face as she sits to have her meal with him. Her heart is warmed by this young man, he seems to be just lonely and needing someone to love. They are having their meal together when Kinta enters.
"Hana is everything ready for today?" He stops quickly seeing his wife eating with the young master.
Smiling at her husband Hana explains.
"Sir asked that we treat him as family and to have our meals with him. Come sit and eat we can go over the day with him together." She stands and gets her husbands plate. The three finish their meal talking about what Kitori needs to do.
When the three finally get ready to leave the house they pass a park near by. Kitori is drawn to the children playing and is energized by their laughter. Kinta seeing this stops and suggests a walk through the park. Kitori walks slowly watching the happiness in the families faces all around him. His heart is empty missing Koto's family. A child calls out and Kitori turns towards the sound.
"Uncle can we come again after mama has the baby?" The child asks the elder.
Kitori is fascinated by the interaction because this man is not the child's parent. He is his uncle but to look at them you would assume they are father and son. The man just nods as and answer and takes the boys hand . Kitori follows behind them listening to their conversation.
"Shiro when you return from the United States we can come as often as you like. You will hopefully be more healthy and be able to enjoy it more." Smiling down at his nephew the man hopes that the treatment in the United States will help him.
Kitori remembered that his love lives in the United States. Thinking that she should be around the same age as this boy now. His heart leaps at an idea. Turning towards Kinta he asks him.
"May we return to the house now I need to make some plans. " Kitori turns towards the car then decides to leave his mark on the boy. That way he can find him where ever he is. Kitori calls out to the young boy.
"Excuse me, you dropped this ." Kitori stopped the boy and his uncle giving him a coin. When the boy reaches out his hand to take it ,Kitori runs his nail across the boys wrist. Thus marking him , now Kitori will be able to shimmer to his side and visit him wherever he his. Smiling kindly at him he turns and goes with his uncle.
When Kitori gets back to the house he goes to the garden. Sitting on the ground Kitori starts to meditate to test his bond with the boy. His mind fills with Shiro and he can feel his breathing as if they are one. He hears the uncle on the phone making the arrangements for their travel. Kitori feels the pain in the boys body and winces. Opening his eyes Kitori breaks the connection for now. The boy is sick and his heart is weak. Kitori wonders if he can follow him to the United States and aid in his healing. Hopefully he will be close to where his love lives and he can possibly visit her. Just thinking of the possibilities makes Kitori's heart race. It will also be nice to visit with her family as well. Excited Kitori calls for the goddesses. In a moment they both appear.
"I have made a decision, I have found a boy that I had an instant connection to. He is ill and will be going to the United States. I have bonded to him and want to follow him. I do not want him to know I am there at all times do I will follow him as a spirit . That way I can be visible when needed or just a shadow when not. Will that be ok. I have never tried to maintain invisibility for long periods but the feeling with this boy is strong. " Kitori looks hopefully at them.
Imari and Morrigan look at each other in disbelief. This little fox who was always afraid to even leave his house now wants to travel the world. Morrigan speaks up first.
"I do not think it will be a bad thing as far as him getting to know this world and era. If he is going to Lilli's side he will be safe I will keep close tabs on him. He may even be able to help the boy." Morrigan tells Imari for the final day is hers.
Imari takes the pendant from her neck and placed it around Kitori's neck.
"This pendant will allow you to be visible only when you will it. I will trust Morrigan with your safety . I trust you to be a good man and not cause pain to others. Watch over the boy and keep him safe." Imari kisses Kitori's forehead and shimmers away. Morrigan takes his hand and nods in agreement before leaving him as well. Kitori jumps with joy that he got their approval. Rushing upstairs he begins to prepare for his journey.
