An Unexpected Mission

Next day, Ethan went to the Library early in the morning. And just as he expected, his advertisement in the dining hall was in vain. No one was here to enrol in the library for the membership.

Ethan gave up his naive thinking. How could anyone come to the library before he even opened it? And most importantly, people got accustomed to blindly listen to their master's teachings and never visited the library. Such a naive and reckless thought process.

Back on earth, despite attending the class and going to their purchased textbooks, the students used to visit the campus library for more knowledge and different solutions. Of course, he was not in the list. But Shirley used to forcefully drag him to the library. So he knew thing or two about the effects of visiting the library.

And this dumb academy actually locked the library for two hundred years. Ethan felt that there has to be a reason why the library was closed for two hundred years. Even though they were dumb, when the academy was still running, what is the need for closing the library?

'Could it be.... the clue to the reason for the war is hidden in the library?'

As soon as this thought came to his mind, to his shock, system notification popped out.

Ethan was dumbfounded. He already had his doubts earlier. But he didn't go deep in it. After all, he was completely foreign to this world. He didn't know anything about the world he is in. So he didn't go deep into it.

But now as he gave it a deep thought and came to an unconfirmed conclusion, the sudden system notification gave him a pleasant surprise. It not only confirmed his thoughts, but it also increased his completion rate by 20%.

Ethan didn't give a second thought. He immediately rushed into the library after opening the door. Since he was not expecting any customer, he started his fiery search for any possible item that could help him in finding the item or whatever it is for which the war took place two hundred years ago.

With the confirmation from the system, he knew that the clue to the quest is right in this room. All he had to do is to search it.

Of course, he was not expecting it to be found that easily. Whatever it was hidden in the library two hundred years ago might be placed in some very top secretive spot with many hidden traps and riddles. So he was not expecting it to he found just like that.

The only reason why he was searching for it was because of the hope of finding it accidentally with luck. Or else, he wouldn't have bothered to look for it. At least, not now.

Sure enough, he searched every inch of the library for six hours. But he didn't find anything. It was unfair to say that he was not disappointed. But he didn't feel discouraged as well. He knew that he had to increase his cultivation first.

Just as he was about to take his leave, his hands accidentally fell on some kind of crystal. He was not paying any attention to the content in the books or crystal in the library as his complete focus was on any possible clue that he might find in the library. But when he read the system notification that popped out after accidentally touching that crystal, his eyes lit up.

Ethan was excited. He finally felt that his six hours of bitter search had finally given him some reward. Francisco Marshall is the name of the founder of the Sacred Wind Academy. Later the library was closed. As for why did they close, no one cared. But one thing was for sure for Ethan. The reason why the library was shut down is because they wanted to hide this crystal from falling in the hands of the enemy.

'Wait a minute. If the library was closed for 200 years, then why was the library included in the academy's administration list? Could the war that happened two hundred years ago was not concluded?'

'Let us presume that the enemy didn't get what they came for after attacking the Academy 200 years ago. If that is the case, then could it be that the enemy didn't give up?'

'If that is the case, then could it be that there are traitors still roaming in the academy in secret?'

As he was thinking, to his surprise a sudden notification popped out in his vision.

Ethan was stunned. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Right now, his main issue is still his cultivation. His cultivation base still doesn't exists. And the system is issuing such dangerous quests from the very beginning.

He started to wonder the role of the system. Does system is there to help him? Or does it want to send him to his coffin?

Why can't it issue some easy mission so that he could raise his strength first?
