HIDE AND SEEK

From the middle of the lake, Adrianne's eyes widened. A sweet smile followed by an angelic laugh had let out on her mouth. She was surrounded by a bright white light. When looked at from a distance it looks like fireflies that was playing around, surrounding the child's body. But that's not the first thing the viewer will probably notice, it's how a child gets into the middle of the lake! The young girl was standing in the middle without sinking.

'It had started.'

"Buelga sitirona!" she said, then slowly her small body flew up from the lake, down to the veranda of their house. Flying, it was one of her past abilities, that only 5 percent of their population at her time, knew how.

Adrianne entered the house again. She could hear Eva's constant screaming. Her cry was full of fear which gave her satisfaction. It sounded like music to her ears. "Abigail, I will soon be able to give you the justice you demand. The life that Eva took away from you. She will pay for it. Life for life. Blood for blood.

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" Eva ran out of the room. Her hair was already messy and she was wearing black pajamas. The bottom part was wet and had a bad odor. In a panic, Eva did not notice the child standing in the hallway. She hurriedly went down the stairs and went to the kitchen.

Smiling, Adrianne followed the woman. Her eyes were full of joy. She really wanted to see what Eva would do. She wondered if she did use too much poison for it. As her power strengthened again, the poison she placed inside the fish earlier was sure to intensify the effect as well.

Eva turned on the faucet and grabbed a handful of cold water. She in a fast paces, wiped it on her face while whispering over and over again.

"You're just dreaming, Eva! Wake up! They're not real! They're not real!" The woman said in a frightened voice.

"Auntie Eva," Adrianne called softly from behind.

Eva stopped what she was doing. She didn't dare to look at the person behind her. Her hands started to shake with nervousness as cold air flashed through her back.

'What are you doing?"

Eva's body trembled continuously. Her lips trembled as she slowly closed the faucet.

"Wake up! Wake up!" She repeated, whispering to herself.

"Auntie Eva, are you alright?"

Eva quickly took the knife on the drawer and confronted Adrianne with her remaining strength as both of her eyes were reflecting fear in them.

"Don't come near, you demon!!!" The woman cried out in a hoarse voice.

"Auntie Eva... What are you saying? It's me, Abigail," Abigail replied, looking at Eva. Water started to pool in her eyes, as she looked innocently at the woman.

"You're not Abigail!!!" Her shrill cry echoed in the room. Her hand that was holding the knife tightly, trembled in fear. "You're not Abigail... You're a demon!!! Stay away from me!!! You're a demon!!!"

One of Adrianne's hands covered her mouth. The tears in her eyes were no longer there as she suddenly laughed. "Hahaha! Eva, your words are hurting me. Is there any living demon that is as beautiful as me? I guess that title is more appropriate for you, you bitch."

Eva's heart was completely enveloped in fear. Abigail's usually gentle and innocent face was gone. It was replaced by a ridiculous look of her. The young girl looked at her differently, as if it was fun playing with her.

"W-Who are you?" Eva asked nervously. She knows for sure that the person in front of her is not Abigail. Abigail was an innocent girl that's why it's easier for her to fool her. But right now, she doesn't know the woman.

"Someone like you doesn't deserve to know my name. And the other thing, you're going to die anyway so why to bother?" she said as her lips formed into an arc.

Suddenly a bolt of lightning and thunder roared in the sky- the lights inside the house went out completely. Darkness enveloped the surroundings. Lightning flashed again and for a moment its light flashed through the house.

Eva shuddered when she saw that Abigail was no longer in front of her. As her eyes roamed around the area, she pointed the knife at her front and at her either side. Her other hand found the cabinet, opening it in such a quick way. She looked for a flashlight. This scene felt like déjà vu.

"Hide and seek, the moon was bright..." It was a children's song, used to scare kids aways for them to sleep early.

Eva's heartbeat took a leap when she heard the child's sweet voice. Her body shivered in pain as she looked for support.

"I'm not in the back, I'm not in the front..."

Nesta searched for the source of the voice. But her own ear seemed to be playing with her as well. The child's voice was coming from all directions of the four-sided room. Swallowing hard, she continued to search for the flashlight.

"As I count to ten you're already hidden..."

"Ahh! Shit!" Eva whispered to herself when she didn't found the flashlight she was looking for a flashlight.

"One ... two ... six ... seven ... eight ..."

Eva gripped on the knife tightly. Without any choice, she opened the cabinet under the sink and in there she went to hide.

"... nine... ten… Eva are you done hiding, hmm?"

Eva heard a child's small footsteps, her head went closer in the door, finding for information.

"Eva..." a young voice called her as if excited.

"She's not here. Hmm… Where is she? Eva where are you?"

Eva covered her mouth to suppress the noise of her breathing. She could not contain the loud pounding in her chest. She was afraid that the demon of a child might hear it too.

Now she regretted everything. If only she hadn't killed Abigail in the first place, this scenario wouldn't have happened to her. That must be the reason why... that's why since they returned home from the hospital, strange things started to happen to her. Abigail was no longer with them— the young girl was already replaced by a demon!

"Eva...?" As the voice approached her, she couldn't be more nervous. She was afraid for her sake, especially the well-being of her unborn child.
