"My name is Abigail Silverio. I am ten years old," In a loud manner, Adriane said while watching a video. "I live with my Father. I am an only child. My mother died five years ago. My step-mother passed away last week. Hmm. Do I have to say that? Maybe I need to soften my voice a little bit. " Taking a deep breath, she sat on her bed, placing the tablet on top of her thighs.
A week ago, Eva's body was found. Contrary to Adrianne's expectations, the search for the woman's body was quick. In just a span of five days, her body was found from the lake.
That day, she saw how Abigail's father cried and passed out. An expected reaction from someone who had lost a loved one.
She wanted to feel sorry for her, but she just couldn't. It was also the man's fault why Abigail and her mom died in the first place. This is what brought Eva into their lives. Mike should even thank her for what she did. It would be better for Eva to disappear from their lives because the woman would only bring misfortune to their lives.
She wasted a lot of time, just to help. See, who said that she's an evil person? But she will admit that she also enjoyed her game with Eva. But then, playing with that woman was actually tiring for her. Because at the very beginning of the game, she already knew the consequences. The woman is too weak for her.
Mike didn't go out of his room than he used to, anymore. The only thing that was in his stomach is Alcohol, nothing more and nothing less. Adrianne didn't know if she would interfere to the man's business. Does she have to stop the man if he wanted to die too? Abigail didn't mention anything about it. Maybe she'll just let the man decide for himself.
If he really wanted to die, who was she to stop it? But that would definitely cause a whole lot of problems for her. Especially that Mike's relatives were already chasing for his wealth.
His estranged sister Josephine was also included. If the man died, where will she go? She's still young after all, she can't just live alone. She still needed his protection while her power was still weak.
For now, maybe she'll just let Mike do what he wanted. First and foremost, the man is not her problem.
She had a bigger problem. In a week, the classes will already start. When Adrianne found about out, she didn't immediately think that it will be a problem. But when she realized, Abigail's school is different from what she was used to.
And another thing, Adrianne needs to go to Abigail's school... with the other kids.
Abigail was known at school as a cheerful and friendly child. But Adrianne was not interested in associating with other people. All she wanted to do now, was to strengthen her power.
She didn't want to waste time her time by pretending to be Abigail in front of a crowd.
But what would she say to Mike to allow her not to go to school? If only her powers were much stronger, it would definitely be easier for her to control Mike's mind.
Adrianne frowned when she heard the voices of two children outside her room. A series of knocks on the door accompanied by several kicks. Ever since they arrived, she already started to lock her door.
They are here again.
Rafaela and Raphael, Abigail's cousins. The twins are three years older than her. A what she saw in Abigail's memory, both of them had always made Abigail cry when the opportunity arises. They came to sympathize about Eva's death but still remained in their house even after the funeral was already over.
Josephine, Mike's stepsister, should have a different purpose on why they were here. And it looks like the woman got what she wanted as she let the two kids mess up with her.
Adrianne opened her door, the faces of the two kids in front of her, greet her. They sweetly smiled at her. She took a deep breath, it looked like they were planning something else. Can't she just rest?
Pulling her outside, "Let's play," Rafaela said cheerfully.
"Hide and seek, and you're the one who will find us!" Raphael joined, agreeing with his sister.
The twin pulled her arms up to the attic. They knew how scared Abigail was, every time they went in the attic, but they still brought her here.
"I-I don't like to go in the attic, there's a ghost!" Said Adrianne while imitating Abigail's tone in memory.
She was really fed up with all of these things. But her companions might be surprised if her attitude suddenly changed. She even watched a horror movie last night about a possessed body. She might be mistaken for possessing the child's body... which was somehow true. But Abigail was gone, and she's already the new owner of her body!
The two children were happy to see Abigail's reaction. The twins' eyes twinkled as they succeeded in torturing their cousin. They wanted to make Abigail suffer because of the jealousy in the things the young child had. They are relatives but why is Abigail rich and they are not?! That's not right for them.
'What are you saying, Abigail! There's no ghost in the attic!" Rafaela said, tightening her grip on Abigail's arm as the girl might run away.
"That's right! Don't be a coward! We'll play with you, don't worry!" said Raphael, with a playful tone lingering in his voice.
They pushed Abigail up into the attic. The area was just recently cleaned as some of Eva's things were stored here.
"Were just here, count up to ten before you go out," Danna told him.
The two children first looked at each other then turned away to leave. Adrianne was not dumb to not see the intention of the two. They will definitely lock her inside.
"Laviste," Adrianne whispered into the air.
The attic door slammed shut to the surprise of the two children.
They were stunned for a moment and looked at the door.
"W-What happened?" Rafaela stepped back as she pushed her twin toward the door.
"Open it."
