THE FIRST TRAITOR

"Do you think Abigail will be alright?" Mady, who was sitting on one of the chairs asked Aella.

Both of them were inside the school's clinic. Mrs. Belva called them out earlier in the middle of the training. The teacher said that Abigail suddenly went unconscious without any particular reason.

Aella nodded as a response, "Of course, I know she'll be alright." The girl answered.

They were staying in the clinic for two hours already. Left with curiosity, they were wondering what truly happened in Abigail's class.

Weird news spread like a wildfire in the school and Aella was wondering if it was true. Some students said that B-Lavin or rather Abigail's classroom looks like a mess as if a storm had passed through it.

"It's already 3 pm, I'll go to our room to bring back all our school things. Stay here and take care of Abigail. I'll bring food for us, don't worry!" Mady, in a jolly tone, announced.

Aella, on the other hand, silently nodded. Her eyes were focused on Abigail's unconscious body. Something was different at the girl, but she couldn't point out what was it.

Seeing what Aella answered, Mady left the clinic while humming a sweet melody. She made sure that she was carrying all her, Aella, and Abigail's things in her hands. Most importantly is that their room was a little bit far away from the main building.

Standing up from the chair, Aella came closer to Abigail's direction. She took a deep breath out of relief when she saw that the bracelet was still in Abigail's hand.

The bracelet was very important to her since it came from her grandmother who she has not personally met yet. Her mother always reminded her to take care of the special bracelet as it belongs to someone else.

She didn't know, why did she give that thing to Abigail. It was Aella's gut feeling who told her that the bracelet was meant for the girl. She just simply followed what her heart wants. And she was hoping that she didn't make the wrong decision.

Adrianne tried to open her eyes even though it was a hard thing to do. The first thing she saw was Aella, who was standing at her side. The girl seems to notice the sudden move on the bed as she quickly averted her gaze in Abigail's side, with her eyes wide open.

"Abi!" Aella hurriedly went in Abigail's direction with worried lingering in her eyes.

"W-water" Abigail uttered, stuttering. Her head was pulsing with pain, and she didn't know why.

Adrianne can't remember what happened earlier after opening her eyes. She can recall how the students looked in her direction, that was the last thing she saw as darkness completely ate her mind, afterward.

In a panic, Aella's hands were shaking as she grabbed the water pitcher on the table near them. Almost spilling the liquid on the tiled floor because of her rapid movement.

"Are you okay now?" The woman welcomed Abigail with a question after she handed the glass of water.

Abigail nodded, unable to say some answer. She drank roughly two glasses of water before her throat became at ease.

"I'm going to call the nurse, wait for me" Aella announced, standing up and running outside that Adrianne could even hear her heavy breathing.

Her eyes wandered around the room. The white curtains were covering the window not letting any light coming from the outside to enter. Taking a deep breath, she remained alone in the room.

How long had she stayed unconscious? Adrianne didn't even know why she passed out. Her body feels exhausted, what an irony. She was sleeping senseless, yet she woke up feeling tired.

Adrianne's eyes went to the door after hearing a loud sound of it being opened.

A man wearing a white polo underneath a white lab coat entered the room. With a hint of grayness on his hair, the man looked at her side beamingly. A golden stethoscope was wrapped around his neck.

"How are you feeling, Abigail?" The man asked with a smile lightly showing on his lips.

Adrianne, staring in the old man's direction opened her mouth, "I'm feeling fine," she responded.

The man nodded before completely going closer to her. Placing the diaphragm on Abigail's chest, Doctor Fernan slowly nodded, looking at the timer on his watch.

Abigail stared closely at the man. He looks very familiar to her, although she couldn't remember him. She needs to know how old the man was. Maybe that would give her a big hint to know the identity of him.

"I'm Doctor Fernan by the way, Abigail. The head doctor of the school" The man introduced himself after feeling the intense gaze coming from the girl.

Adrianne nodded as if she was asking for his name anyways. The doctor told her a lot of things. Medicines that she should take for the day if ever she will experience headaches.

The man also said that she could not participate in the training tomorrow. But the hell does Adrianne care about what he was saying. Rolling her eyes secretly, Adrianne, boredly looked at her fingernails.

"Abigail, You need to come back here tomorrow so that we can check on you again. I hope you remember all my reminders" Doctor Fernan smiled.

Abigail, flashing a sweet smile, nodded like a good student. "Goodbye, Doctor Fernan," She uttered, waving her hands as a sign of goodbye to him.

The man chuckled with the joyful attitude the kid has. It was far different from the rumors he heard. Patting the girl's head, the doctor left the room satisfied. He called over Aella who was waiting outside.

"You can now go inside to meet your friend," Fernan announced as the kid hurriedly rushed over to his direction to ask about Abigail's welfare.

However, inside the clinic, Adrianne's sweet smile dropped. It was replaced by a mischievous grin She had finally met one of the traitors that betrayed her in the past. Chuckling, isn't this exciting?
