"What were you planning to do, Abigail?" Aella asked out of nowhere after a moment of silence occupied the whole place.
Adrianne took a deep breath and shook her head. "I don't know, but we should be aware of our surroundings first." She answered.
Mady and Aella nodded at what Abigail had answered. It's already 3 in the afternoon. They still haven't seen Mrs. Belva after a few hours of staying here.
Adrianne walked around the whole place, looking for possible resources that could help them later on. But her efforts were put to waste when she found nothing at all.
The place was completely nothing except for the woven mat on the floor that they used earlier for sleeping. As well as plastic sofa chairs that Adrianne was sitting on, earlier.
*Knock *Knock *Knock *Knock
A loud knock made Adrianne and the other students stopped what they were doing. Before the door could even open, Adrianne rushed over to the side and pretended as if she was doing nothing else besides spacing out.
"Good afternoon students," Mrs. Belva, wearing a big smile on her face greeted the students enthusiastically.
The students inside the room stood up. "Good morning, Mrs." They greeted back.
Following the woman was a battalion of Vampires who were working in Academia. They were carrying a tray filled with food for the children.
"This is your snacks. Make sure to eat this." That was the last thing Mrs. Belva had said before leaving the room and locking it up again.
"Didn't Mrs. Belva said that we're safe here from the Driners?" Mady asked after they were left alone once again.
"Let's just wait here," Aella suggested after hearing Mady's words.
Adrianne's forehead furrowed even more. "Tsk," She felt a different kind of nervous. It was her first time feeling it for a while and she knew that they were all in danger, in this place.
She stood up once more and carefully examined each window in the room. She surveyed if there were guards watching outside. A smile quirked on her lips, there was no guard at the back of the palace.
Adrianne opened the large window at the back and peeked outside. When she was sure that there were no guards, she looked at her companions. Adrianne was deeply in shock to notice that half of them were already sleeping.
"Don't you dare touch the food!" Her voice echoed through the whole room.
"What's happening?" Joseph asked worriedly as he watched the children suddenly fall asleep.
"The foods were mixed with sleeping pills," Adrianne responded.
She looked in Aella and Mady's direction. Adrianne breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed that the two girls have not touched the food.
"Why would they do this?" Sharon asked incredulously as she sat on the edge of the floor. The food on the tray was placed in front of her.
"What do they need? Why do they need to put sleeping pills in our food?" Mady asked as her gaze went over at their friend, Sasha.
"Sasha? Sasha, wake up!"
"It's too late! We need to get out of here right now." Adrianne ordered her companions. Looking at the clock that was hanging on the wall.
"Where will we go?"
"What about the others?"
Adrianne did not answer the question of the children. She approached the door and locked it in silence. Gathering some things, she stacked the plastic chairs and a small table perched on the side behind the door.
"What are you waiting for? Hurry up! Get out from the window and run away!" Adrianne said to all the children who were still awake.
They didn't know what to do. Looking at each other, they had no choice but to follow what the girl had said. They know that Abigail won't put them down in the worst scenario.
"A-Abigail," Mady's voice quivered.
"Mady, Aella, don't get away from me," Adrianne ordered as she approached the open window.
Adrianne saw their friend Sasha, who was now sound asleep, being carried on Joseph's back. The oldest in the group took one child each to carry them on their backs.
Adrianne did not agree with what Joseph and the other children were doing. Tilting her head to the side. This will only cause their movement to slow down.
In this situation, they need to think of themselves first because Adrianne, as well, was also not sure if they can really escape at the hands of the Quirans.
