C 74. What Is Your Ability?

I sigh…  I forget that this one and the other one are the same person, but the other one was just more mature and knowledgeable than this one but their behaviour and manner will always be similar.

He moves around the garden touching every plant and animal, the animals still behave well towards him and they show familiarity just like before.

I quickly send my report to Director Khan conveying that Subject 3519, Balarabe has woken up from his deep slumber. While Subject 3519, Great Sage has gone back to deep Slumber.

Yes, that is the name we gave the Alter-ego, Great Sage.

He has shown remarkable mastery in knowing things about Abilities which leads to people coming to him from different sectors with strange abilities that are tricky to understand.

And when he observes them, he gives appropriate comments that always help the Ability User.

With his help Sector 7 has identified 3 more Primal subjects, but the only Sector that did not come for any help is Sector 9.

All those that he decided to help just by advising how they will improve their ability, have seen remarkable development and some of them have passed Phases of development that make them have fewer side-effects.

Certain people show some complications and almost lose their lives, but after we refer it to him, he always claims they deviated from his advice and he has nothing to add.

At first, we thought he was running away from his mistakes but after I managed to get close to him he opened up a bit and I understand one thing that all of us neglect.

Using ability requires the thought, the mindset, the emotions, the knowledge, and the experience and many more of the User to be in tune with the Ability to truly control it.

Gradually, but surely things were fixed and those with complications were cured and they advanced well.

Still, there is one person that is under complication and based on what his vitals are saying the man is dying.

That person is Leroy Vincent. A captain Guard that Great Sage takes a liking to. 

He promised to help Leroy achieve a path of development that even he doesn't know the limit of evolution.

One complication has been dropping up after another, and his vitals are shutting down according to the record. 

He is also losing control of his mind along the way.

I started cooking the food as usual. In no time I finished and I called him.

Like an obedient lad, he came and collected his food.

Another surprise, the moment he started eating I felt from his emotion that he likes the food. That put a smile on my face but then he just looked at me and asked a question.

"What is your ability?" 

Damn, did he feel me feeling his emotion?

"Why do you ask?"

"You are my attendants, right?"

"Yes, I am. " 

Attendant that what the Subjects call us, we babysitters.

"Then you must have ability. A contingency plan in case we misbehave!"

"Hmm. Not really, a well-trained person can hold people way better than an incompetent ability user."

He smiled before pointing at the garden before he said, "They showed that they know me, and I'm their friend for a long time. 

That means I was not really unconscious, it was just that now I can't remember it.

A similar thing happens to me when I always have a nightmare. 

And you are behaving as if you are new to see me while your body is showing otherwise."

"I'm just your babysitter. When you need an answer you need to wait for Director khan."

"Okay, but telling me your ability is not a problem as I know some of my attendant abilities."

"You have been glancing at my lips, do you like them?" 

Hehe, you are not a Great Sage, but a simple Subject 3519. You have the ability but it was said you can't control or understand it.

As for me, I'm better at changing conversations to suit my taste and way.

Looking at him, he looked taken aback.

"Sorry… I… " he stammered.

Yep, duel on it. A beautiful girl like me is bound to attract attention to myself.

"The swirl of your energy, I saw something similar!" He said eying me with a calm demeanour as if observing my reactions.

To my surprise, his emotion was blocked and was reinforced with intense calm and curiosity.

I can probe deeper and break the barrier but I didn't. I want to know how far he can keep up with this mindset.

"You met my brother? Where and when?" I asked 

One thing I know is that before Sam met him I met him already but he claimed to meet someone with a similar energy swirl.

"Is Richard Zhen your brother?" He asked.

"Richard Zhen? I don't know that person."

"I see, the energy is just similar but not the same, but… you do have a second half, right?"

I stare at him, his defence is still there. But then I smiled and activated my ability to break it and see what was his feeling toward me.

It was easy but he seemed wary of me, not just that he kind of despised me a little. Like some kind of repulsion towards me.

I pretended to be calm when he spoke, "Just now the swirl is increasing and decreasing. 

Did you use your ability on me? I did not feel different! What exactly is your ability?"

"I thought your eyes could tell you what people can do. So why not ask your eyes for that!" I said with a hint of anger.

He is disgusted with me, why? 

And now I thought we will be good friends just like his Alter-ego but….

"Hmm, Richard Zhen can influence people's emotions. And because you have a similar swirl of energy I suspect you have something similar.

But it was just my hypothesis. Another thing is your energy is almost twenty times his, so you are far more powerful than him."

"Deal with it, I have an Emotion Sensor as an ability. Is that why you are disgusted with me?" I said angrily. 

While I started to search about Richard Zhen. The information came and I learned why he doesn't like me.
