Detachment Duty

"So, if the Mage Elites have started the process, and let's just assume they began the night of the failed engagement, there should be a few demon-assisted weapons by now," Rafael scratched his brow.

"The time between the creation of these weapons and deployment is variable, and mostly dependent on the ability of the mage in question to be able to maintain control over the conjured demon."

"Which means," Simon postulated, "that the weakest of the mage weapons are now being deployed."

"I don't get it," I waved my arm.  "We've gone through two of these Scourge Winds and from personal experience, I can tell you they are crazy scary.  How can a small group of us mages and some Enhanced Apes go up against a Scourge Wind?"

"They're actually not all-powerful, Aunt Nana," Simon said.  "Grandmother knows more about the demon-assisted Scourge Winds than any other mage.  She literally wrote the book on it,"  he smiled.
