Spear Stance

Joey started to walk but Mila shouted at him "Hey! Don't go in my damn bathroom like that. Go outside! and wash off first."

Joey walked outside leaving blood steps. He saw Mila come out of the warehouse with a power wash and started spraying him down. The water from the hose hit his skin and it stung.

"Take off your clothes!" Mila shouted as she continued to spray him off. "Fine now go wash and then let's start training. It's good to get used to your body as you get stronger because it's continuously changing".

Joey got to bathing quickly. After he finished changing his clothes he came across the blue dragon stone that made his body feel lighter. Joey wasn't sure of what weird powers it had, he tried to absorb its power but it seemed to only have a mind of its own.

"What's that you got there?" Mila who was over his head looked straight in his hand as he tried to hide the dragon pendant. She quickly bought his hand and squeezed it out.

"Why are you hiding it like porn?" She asked as she examined the flat stone. "Like what?" Joey asked. She was slight taken aback by his cluelessness but it was maybe for the best.

"Does this mean something to you?" she asked after she finished examining the stone. "I just think it looks cool" Joey lied.

Mila looked at him like she knew it was a lie then said" I have something that would be perfect for this" she went away then a few minutes later she came back with a silver locket and handed it to Joey.

"Open it" she ordered. He did as she said, when he looked into the locket there was the dragon stone that fitted perfectly inside the locket. Along with it, there was also a picture of beautiful picture of a woman in a snow-white dress the blew in the wind. The lady had beautiful snow while smile, she looked like she was having the time of her life.

Joey looked up and down and realized Mila was the person in the picture. "Is it so hard to believe? I know how to have fun. That was when I travelled to the Divided States" Mila plainly said.

Joey wasn't shocked by the fact of how beautiful he looked, but by the fact that someone who wore samurai armour like her could change her image that much "Thank you, I'll look at it anytime..." Joey let his sentence trail off.

"Let's train," Mila said as she walked outside. "Dammit Mila, you're coming off too strong! this kid is probably using you because he needs to save his sister, Why would he want my picture in a pendant? I need to make some sort of emotional connection..." she thought.

Joey actually didn't mind the picture. He thought it was a nice thing to have. It could hold more emotional value when spent more time together.

They walked outside toward a nearby forest where Mila summoned her armour. Just like that, it appeared out of thin air along with her spear. She spun it majestically and slammed it on the ground.

She then summoned a new spear that had a read shaft with floral patterns along with it and a sharp spearhead at the top"Where did you get that shaft?" She asked. Joey explained his encounter with Mason and how she gave him the spoils of an afterlife match.

"You witnessed an A rank match and even got some of the spoils. That guy Mason seemed to have grown up a little." Mila said through her armour. She then threw the spear over to Joey and he caught it. The spear didn't feel the overbearing weight anymore. Joey guessed the old man was probably in his 3rd awakening.

"Now let's start. Hold your weapon up, we don't have enough time." she stated then she said, "Hold it like I am. Try to copy anything I do, this will help you get a grasp of the basics".

Joey nodded in understanding. "Let's spar"

Joey wasn't able to object when they started sparing. Joey was easily on the defensive as she kept swinging her hammer around. He was already using all this strength from the start, very soon he was tired.

"I guess this will be harder than I thought," Mila said as she looked at him panting. "You can't expect me to learn like this, I don't even use spear" Joey rebuked then he said, "what kind of samurai uses spears anyway?"

"Being a samurai doesn't solely rely on the weapon that you use. It is what is on the inside that makes you a warrior. Unwavering Loyalty, Courage, Integrity, Benevolence, Respect, Honesty and Honor. Even if you don't realize it that is what makes you a samurai It the true nature of a person and what they believe in."

"It sounds all great but I don't plan on being a samurai," Joey said. "That's fine, I wear this armour because it looks cool but what I said still stands. Samurai aren't limited to swords."

"I'm not a very good teacher but I'll try." Then she started "The spear is a pole weapon with a sharp tip used for piercing. Naturally, a spear can be used in other ways like all weapons for thrusting, slashing and throwing, but that will leave you without a weapon."

"This is spear stance, it makes you available to receive any attack and leaves you a lot of option to counter with". Then she said, "Attack me".

Joey hesitated then she said, "Don't worry you years away from hurting me". He was slightly agitated by her remark and thrust his spear toward her. She shook her spear and the whiplash slammed Joey's spear out of his hand.

"Do you understand?"

Joey never answered her question directly then said "I don't think I have a good spear," Mila jerked her spear a little and it recoiled with enormous power. His spear wasn't that flexible.
