Left and Right

The main area was an auditorium next to the main stage that had many people walking into it. It was also a small walk away from the gym, so participants poured from that area.

Joey was impressed to see one some people were quite the character. Sporting different kinds of weapons.

It was truly impressive to see.

If it was up to Joey, he could easily say there were at least 2000 people in all.

There were even some men who looked to be in their twenties. It wasn't a joke when he realized he was one of the weakest people there.

Contrary to belief this wasn't daunting for him. He reckoned the gap between the 2nd and 3rd awakening wasn't that drastic.

The atmosphere was quite tense with everyone putting on their most serious face.

"Everyone seems so scary" Eisha observed, she was following behind Jacob like a lost child. Joey nodded, however, this was mostly an act for most people. It was to avoid seeming weak.

30 minutes passed and no announce meant had been made. The set time for the first test to start had been passed.

Eisha was getting annoyed by the constant waiting they were subjected to.

"How long are have to wait. Isn't the military suppose to be built on discipline and organization? Are why are they slacking now "

Joey nodded as he agreed, "It's weird that something like this would happen."

Their conversation started to get more people talking. Until it spread throughout the auditorium.

People started to boast their concerns while talking down to the militaries lack of etiquette to meet deadlines.

Creak!

A slow and suspenseful push came from the main door.

"You rats should hold your mouths! I can strike all of you all down right now, dare to talk down on the military?" Claymus hollered while holding the door with an arrogant grin. He looked at the face of everyone and scoffed in contempt

Behind him were Mia and Nerou who had a smile on their face as well. They looked on everyone else like they were scum and boasted expensive combat suits on their body.

They all wore one of different colours and the build was definitely looked expensive.

Joey never looked in their direction. Only toward the other exit which was for the main stage.

After taunting some of the other contestants. Finally, there came a man with a speakerphone. He troubled it a little before he was able to get it working.

His face looked pale and he had many bags under his eyes.

"Now that all the contestants are here. we can finally get started". The man paused to sigh, "After you register you were given a registration card. On there you should have a number, it shows what number you are, or to better put it, what order you were registered in. The total number of participants is 2012, the number you were given should be between 1 and 2012. Since I'm sure you get the drift everyone with a number over 1006 stan on the left side. The rest on the right."

'I guess they are splitting all participants into groups' Jacob looked at his card and it had the number 1080.

Eisha looked over his shoulders and saw his numbers. She smiled wryly and showed him hers, It was the number 1007 " I guess we're going to be fighting on the same stage."

It was a huge coincidence, however, Jacob subconsciously wanted to go first to leave a greater impression on the people who would decide if they got admitted. It saved him from more trouble.

He eventually walked over to the right side where the second group lined up.

As he was walking he came across Micheal. Their eyes met for a second but they nodded to each other. Micheal looked like he was ready and he had a power full sabre in his waist.

Jacob could tell it was made from sturdy cold steel.

After they both lines of on either side, the baggy-eyed man never spoke he looked in the middle of them both. Everyone did the same and looked at the 3 first family descendants talking.

"I think we should go first... Those guys look more interesting" Claymus spoke looking toward the first group.

"That guy with the sabres might know how to use them," Mia said as she pointed toward Micheal, however, he was unfazed.

The two argued for a bit while "Nerou what do you think?".

The competitors were furious by their lackadaisical attitude. It was well known that descendants from the 1st families could smurf in these competitions. They could only hold in their frustration.

Nerou was looking at the second group. He scanned over everyone with a leisurely gaze. Then his eyes made 4 with Joey's.

Joey tried to turn away however he had already seen his face.

Nerou eventually laughed, "I saw we got to whichever group we want to". He started walking over toward the second group.

Claymus nodded and walked over toward the first group, while Mia followed behind him.

After all, this finished the baggy-eyed man finally spoke, "Now that everyone is done. The first group should make their way out onto the main stage. The second group can head over to the stand where there are seats for you to observe from. You can do whatever you choose, just be at the stands before the second round begins".

He finished speaking and opened the exit onto the main stage for the main group. The sound of waves could be heard. They all started to shuffle toward the exit.

"What are you gonna do?" Eisha was still following him. "I think we should watch the battle royal take place. We can understand the process a little better it will make fighting a lot easie—"

"Hmph! Thinking you have a chance when you are in my group? I'm a Rank 1 warrior and a descendant of the Janroes family. " Nerou spat disdainfully as he walked out of the auditorium.

'It's not worth it' Jacob told himself. He moved toward the exit for the stand like everyone else.

Out on the stands, there were many people that started to group up with their friends. However, it never mattered where you sat. It still would have been a good seat to watch the fights.

Jacob quickly found a seat that he fell comfortable with and Eisha sat right beside him.
