“Hmm, I want a place with a lot of colour.” Sargon said as Diya tilted her head at him.
“Why?” she asked.
“So you’d stop seeing black and white.” he said as he smiled.
Were all that ran through her head as she fell to the ground. She clawed against the stone pathway as she screamed until sounds no longer escaped her. Everything was vivid, she couldn’t hear the sounds of Amalie or the twins calling to her. It was all blurry. The barrier which protected them shattered. Amalie understood what was happening and knew that it would be minutes, even seconds before Allister came to them. Despite the fact she just lost her only child, she put a brave face on and told the twins to hide inside. Diya’s eyes had become red from crying, she was shaking and in a trance. Everyone else was in a state of shock and disbelief. Amalie, who was in her armor solely due to a knight’s instinct, clutched her sword and tried her best to comfort Diya.
