Violet City Gym

Now, Vidal was sitting in Sam's lab facing Susan. He needed to solve this immediate problem properly.

"So, you are also one of the people working on this Team Shadow case?" Susan asked.

"Yes." Vidal nodded. "But, why are you saying it like there are a lot of people?"

"Well because there are lots of people. I happened to be second in command leading the case. And you are assigned under me." Susan explained.

'I am actually working under her. If not for the items and money I have already accepted from professors, I wouldn't have to suffer through all this.' Another headache started for him, "Then who is actually leading the case."

"That is something kept secret by the professors and researchers. They old revealed that he was some legendary Pokemon trainer." Susan said.

'Legendary Pokemon Trainer… In a literal sense that should be me, right?' Vidal now had to find a proper way to get out of this place.

"So, Susan… How should we cooperate?"

"Cooperate… You are going to follow me. And we search for any clues of team shadow in areas they have shown their presence before," Susan said.

"I don't think that will work." Vidal said in a serious tone, "You see, I have promised Professor Elm to help him collect all the Johto native Pokemon for his research purpose. So, it isn't possible to follow you for the time being."

"What? And you expect me to suffer alone. I will ask Professor Oak first."

"Please. I have no problem with that."

After a full half-hour, "I am the leader and they want me to follow you around. What is the matter on?"

"You don't have to follow me. It is crucial to inform professors immediately if you find any information about Team Shadow. "I'll know afterward." Vidal got out of the situation quite easily.

'But please… Don't say you are going to follow me around.' Vidal waited for the decision of Susan.

"Let's do that for now. After you finish collecting the Pokemons for Professor Elm, we can work together." Susan made the decision.

Vidal did not waste any time leaving the preserve of Mt. Silver.

Vidal had a serious issue to deal with. He had Ho-oh with him and he was injured. 'Let's heal you first.'

Vidal flew towards Kanto region, to be precise somewhere in between Pallet town and Cinnabar Island.

There was a small area in the midst of forest and hills. It was created from the remains of a volcano. It can be regarded as a narrow canyon. There was a small river flowing through the canyon. Due to terrain it was a secular place.

Entering the Canyon, Vidal let Ho-oh out near the river. It was still in a weak state. Vidal poured a try full of Lum and Oran berries. Besides poison and paralysis, he had prepared other berries as well.

Vidal also let out three other legendary Pokemons. Vidal had discovered the canyon with the help of Moltres. There was a lava pool in deep canyon, which the Moltres has been using as a bath tub.

As Vidal waited for the Ho-oh to recover, he trained with his Pokemons running around the canyon.

Vidal kept his eye on Ho-oh all the time; he wasn't willing to let it go that easily. He was prepared to enlist the help of three legends to capture it again if it was necessary.

During the time waiting for Ho-oh to wake up, Vidal worked hard to clean the Canyon. Originally, he intended to use this place as a Pokemon training base.

In front of Ho-oh was a Pokemon ball and Vidal was staring at Ho-oh. Behind Vidal were three legendary, helping to increase the intensity of his stare.

Vidal couldn't come up with the right thing to say. He was basically ignorant of what this Pokemon needed to stay in his party.

"I can only offer the same benefits to you as they do. Excellent food and I won't restrict your movement too much. I won't make you fight without your consent." The three legends nodded their heads supporting Vidal.

Vidal didn't move either from where he stood. Ho-oh took a reasonable amount of time. At last, Ho-oh chooses Vidal.

After Vidal settled the main issue, he made plans to develop the canyon into a Pokemon battle ground. And for that he developed a list of Pokemon to add to the canyon.

After finishing his job at the canyon, it was time to continue on the path of catching Pokemon again.

Vidal quickly returned to the Violet city again, but before starting the catching spree he made a stop at the Violet city gym.

Falkner, the gym leader of Violet city, used flying type Pokemon.

Vidal chooses the most talented actor from his party, Alakazam, Arcanine and Gengar.

Falkner's first choice was Hoothoot. Vidal sent Gengar to counter the psychic type moves from Hoothoot.

Gengar made use of Shadow balls and the first victory was his.

Falkner sent Dodrio as the second Pokemon. Arcanine substituted for Gengar.

"Arcanine use Agility, don't let the Dodrio get near you," Vidal was under significant pressure due to the three heads of Dodrio. He even wiped his imaginary sweat a few times.

"Arcanine now has the chance to use Flamethrower." With that Arcanine got a close victory.

And at last it was Alakazam; Falkner used his main Pokemon Pidgeot. Alakazam dodged attacks using teleport and psychic and finally dealt the final blow through confusion.

Vidal was very happy with the result. The Pokemon were not injured heavily, and the gym ground was still in perfect condition. Vidal nodded with satisfaction.

'They are getting very proficient at acting and controlling their strength. I wouldn't have expected such growth from Gengar. The sheer power output of different moves could even rival Dragonite. I hope Gengar will be able to keep up with Dragonite and Starmie in the future.' Vidal praised his own acting as well.

Vidal left the gym and filled his bag with food and berries and headed towards Azalea town.

[Route 33]

Vidal was on a catching spree of Pokemon like Hoppip, Aipom, Heracross, etc. One of the Pokemon eggs started glowing.

It was the egg he received from Primo in the Pokemon center. Every Pokemon gathered around to welcome the new member of the party.
