Celebi

The glow finally subsided and a Pokemon covered in wool appeared. Vidal chooses an electric-type Pokemon, Mareep. Its earlier evolutions are quite normal, but the final evolution is a different case.

When Mareep will be finally evolved into Ampharos, it can easily output very high power while using moves.

A lot of eyes were watching Mareep, and four of them were legendary. Vidal chased them far and communicated with the newly born Mareep.

Being a child, Mareep instantly trusted Vidal as his trainer and stuck close to him.

Because of Mareep, Vidal spent a lot more time than planned on route 33. Vidal let Mareep get used to other Pokemon and the brand-new world. Vidal didn't allow Mareep to engage in any battle at this time.

Basically, Dragonite became the babysitter of Mareep at the beginning. It worried Vidal seeing Dragonite sticking with Mareep. But for the moment he could only wait for Mareep to get adjusted.

Azalea town

Vidal hit the gym in Azalea town at first. Gym leader Bugsy didn't find anything wrong with the performance of Gengar, Arcanine and Alakazam. It was an easy badge to win.

Vidal became impatient after reaching Azalea town and wanted to enter Ilex forest immediately.

Ilex forest was number one on his list of compulsory visiting areas. Otherwise the GS will be useless in the future.

Vidal refilled his berries and called Professor Oak from the Pokemon center in Azalea town.

He received some very serious news from Oak. Ash left Azalea town two days ago.

"I need to get there fast," Vidal hurried out of the Pokemon center, and took off with Dragonite towards Ilex forest.

In the middle of the Ilex forest, lies an area filled with tree houses, known as Arborville.

Vidal landed near one of the tree houses. Two people came out of the tree house, one old and one young.

"Welcome to Arborville," the old woman said.

"Thank you. I am in a little bit of a hurry. Does a boy with a Pikachu pass by here?" Vidal asked the critical question.

"Yes, they entered the deep forest with other three…" the old woman didn't get to finish her sentence.

Vidal climbed on Dragonite again and flew towards the center of the forest. "Thank you, again."

When entering the deeper region of forest, mist started appearing out of nowhere. The deeper he went the thicker the mist.

It didn't take long for him to notice some shadows in front of him. They four people had already reached the lake of life.

The appearance of Vidal spooked the four people, as Misty was the first to let out a scream.

"Hey, hey… It's me." Vidal climbed down from the Dragonite and got near them to show his face.

"Vidal, what are you doing here? You nearly gave us a heart attack." Misty said weakly.

Vidal looked at Sam who was the fourth person, and was carrying Celebi. "I am here for him." Vidal pointed at Sam.

"Who are you? What do you mean by that?" Sam took a few steps.

"Sam, you don't have to worry about him. He is my brother." Ash explained. They looked at his eyes asking for an answer.

"Professor Oak sent me here to investigate Suicune. You are the one who told Professor about that Pokemon right?" Vidal told what Professor told him about Suicune and Ash. That's how he knew about Ash reaching Ilex forest.

The trio nodded.

"I found traces of battles on the way here. Is someone after you?" Vidal asked.

"It was a masked guy and also team rocket." Ash answered.

Vidal nodded and called out Alakazam, "You three, go with Alakazam and look around the area for team rocket." Vidal signaled Alakazam.

Before the three could talk, Alakazam used psychic and took them away from the Lake of Life.

Now only Sam who looked scared and Vidal who was smiling were left behind.

"Ho-oh, I need your help," Vidal called out. A beautiful bird Pokemon which used to appear in legends and stories was right in front of Sam.

"Sam, put Celebi on the ground. It needs healing, and she is the most talented Pokemon at that." Vidal explained.

Following the instruction of Vidal, Sam put Celebi down.

Ho-oh used healing light on Celebi.

Vidal turned to Sam, "Sam, there is something I need from you?"

"From me, please ask. You helped to heal Celebi. I will do anything in my power."

"Just promise me. The things that you see here, don't mention it to another soul. If possible try to forget about it." Vidal said in a serious tone.

Sam could understand the danger Ho-oh and Celebi could get into if words get out, "I understand."

Vidal took a sigh, 'Professor, even if you know about it, you won't be able to tell anyone about it.'

When Ho-oh finished healing, a healthy Celebi started flying around. Vidal knew it was time for Sam and Celebi to return to the past.

But Vidal couldn't let go of Celebi this easily. In his hand, Vidal held the GS ball.

Seeing the GS ball, Celebi came towards him and stared at the GS ball and then at Vidal.

"I will take good care of you from now on," Vidal said with a smile, Ho-oh standing right beside him as an assurance.

Sam stared at the scene blankly, when Celebi touched the GS ball with its head. The ball glowed and Celebi entered the ball just like that.

"Celebi, your work isn't finished yet. You should send Sam to his past, otherwise things will get messy." Vidal called out Celebi again.

Vidal gave Sam and Celebi to say their final goodbyes, and Celebi finally did his magic and Sam vanished in the white light.

Arborvilla, the masked man who was chasing after Celebi, was stuck in a battle with Alakazam and the trio.

The Tyranitar used by the masked man was running berserk, and the trio was facing off against Scizor and Sneasel. Sitting on a long-legged mecha, the masked man was trying to control Tyranitar, but it was getting angrier.

"Alakazam, stop playing around… Use confusion on Tyranitar, and send that mecha away with psychic." Vidal arrived on the battle scene with Dragonite.

The Tyranitar that was attacking everywhere stopped and fell to the ground. Then the body of Alakazam started to glow in bluish light. Similarly, the entire mecha of the masked man also glowed in the same color. The Mecha was first lifted in air and blasted off in the sky.

With the arrival of Vidal, the battle ended immediately. But the trio rushed to ask questions about Sam and Celebi. Vidal carefully explained the situation.

Vidal and the crew rested in the tree house for some time and finally headed on their way to the next city. This time Vidal agreed to tag along with the trio for some time.
