The Blooming Rose That He Tenderly Held in His Palms were on the Verge of Withering

The dawn marked the beginning of the Silver Week Holiday that started from Saturday. While there were groups of city dwellers that went back to their hometowns or short vacations, there were also people who chose to remain in the city.

The early morning in one neighborhood was calm and peaceful. Most of its residents were sleeping in yet, some were having their morning run.

"Hey, what's that?"

"En, what did you say?"

One elderly man stopped jogging, his head was in the direction of the canalside. His friend also paused his run as he looked at the old man.

The two old men often came out for a jog together as soon as the dawn broke. They were among the first few residents here before the other moved in.

Usually, the field of the canalside would still be empty in the morning save for a few people who came to exercise. The neighborhood children only came flocking here to play in the late afternoons.
