Bullfrog (same as on earth but bigger and stronger)

Race - frog

Class: Amphibia

The Swamp bullfrogs, often simply known as the bullfrogs, is a large true frog native to the eastern contents of Remorse. It typically inhabits large permanent water bodies such as swamps, ponds, and lakes. Bullfrogs can also be found in man-made habitats such as pools, koi ponds, canals, ditches and culverts and sewers

The bullfrog gets its name from the sound the male makes during the breeding season, which sounds similar to a bull bellowing.

The dorsal (upper) surface of the bullfrog has an olive-green basal colour, either plain or with mottling and banding of greyish brown. The ventral (under) surface is off-white speckled with yellow or grey. Often, a marked contrast in colour is seen between the green upper lip and the pale lower lip. The teeth are tiny and are useful only in grasping. The eyes are prominent with brown irises and horizontal, almond-shaped pupils. The tympana (eardrums) are easily seen just behind the eyes and the dorsolateral folds of skin enclose them. The limbs are blotched or banded with grey. The fore legs are short and sturdy and the hind legs long. The front toes are not webbed, but the back toes have webbing between the digits fourth toe, is unwebbed.

Bullfrogs are sexually dimorphic, with males being bigger than females and having yellow throats. Males have tympana larger than their eyes, whereas the tympana in females are about the same size as the eyes. Bullfrogs measure about (800 to 1000 cm) in snout–to–vent length. They grow fast in the first eight months of life, typically increasing in weight from 1000 to 175000g and large, mature individuals can weigh up to 50000g. In some cases, bullfrogs have been recorded as attaining 800000g and measuring up to 2000 from snout to vent. The Swamp bullfrog is the largest species of frog in eastern parts of Remorse.

As mentioned previously these frogs play a huge role in the ecosystem, they hunt and kill numerous insect-type monsters, especially Stinger Mos. Some countries started to tame them and release them afterwards near lakes or rivers. Just because they are helpful doesn't mean adventurers won't hunt them. It is hard to kill them but the amount of material you can gain usually can make 1 party a fortune, on rare occasions they can earn enough gold to rest for months without putting themselves at risk.

Captain stood motionlessly while looking at his comrades' lifeless bodies. From previous conversations, it was clear that the Captain met them not long ago. Naturally, you shouldn't feel too attached to random people. Yet Captain felt deep regret and guilt, they all had such potential, and all were inspiring adventurers with different skills, the whole fight played in his mind he quickly noticed his mistakes and his poore judgment with decision-making. The time seemed to freeze and images of the past quickly flashed in his mind.

'My last group died because of my fault, my carelessness and cockyness… got them deep into the monster lair where we met the first abnormal beast. I should have died there but the creature gave me a chance to run… no it allowed me to flee… crawl with my wounded body while it slowly followed me, that mocking smile and ghost-like laughter haunted me, all the way till the exit of that boss room… armoured hands grabbed me by my leg when I got to the door… The conniptions still ravage my soul as I recollect the fear and dread I felt… If not for them… My friends… My brother's sacrifice gave me a chance to escape…It t-took me years to get over that horror… Well, at least I tried. I never truly accept their death. I tried again and aging studied my errors and perfected my skills. I thought that I'd never end up like this again, I thought I could finally give it another shot… start from scratch take my time to prepare and get better gear, and trustworthy comrades, gather intel, find that creature's weaknesses and finally, fu***** kill it, I've done all of this to have my revenge...How foolish I was. I should have noticed…I should have realized!! THAT I lost my luck after that dive, my sense got duller, I knew that my hands never stopped shaking, that I couldn't hold the sword with the same confidence as before. And all of this for NOTHING! ALL I'VE DONE IS GOT ANOTHER PARTY KILLED!"

Captain kept yelling in his mind, cursing at himself, his foolishness. He was so occupied that he didn't notice Edgar turned towards him. Edgar halted the two imps who were about to jump at the last human. He felt something change. He would have stayed like this but The same human who was just standing still a second ago spoke, ending the silence.

"And yet here I'm… cornered just like last time… BY YOU!!"

Edgar saw wrath in his opponent's eyes, Humans body tensed up yet the human never rushed at him. He stayed there eyeing him and his group reading himself.

"Team we gotta go."

"Why!"

"something ain't right about him ."

"Oh, ok"

With that said Edgars' team quickly jumped into different tunnels and backed away. Leaving the last human confused and a bit shocked. Quickly taking a hold of himself, Captain deeply inhaled and crouched.

'Did he just… leave, no they've done that before. I have to calm down, anger won't help me in this situation.'

After a couple of seconds, he readied himself and started to move towards their supplies. He reached down and grabbed one of two longswords which were in there. The one which he pulled out was similar to the last one but its guard was bent at a 45% angle. Naturally many weapons were created to fight and kill other humans, take swords as an example. The longsword could cut with both sides and is good at thrusting, its guard was straight and was mainly used to defend the wielder's arms. It also allowed users to parry more effectively. But when facing a monster many techniques or stansies would prove useless, with size difference and strength, of course, humans shouldn't attempt to parry monster hits. Therefore the guard was curved a bit to allow more movement for hands, more specifically joints, to be more effective at landing hits on monsters. After grabbing the blade Captain looked for other supplies, yet found nothing.

'...'

'More monsters are coming… with an abnormal nearby, fighting would be a suicide . It must be waiting for monsters to tire me out… even if they won't, my food and water supplies are gone… eating monster meat might have been an option but it could weaken me if not cooked properly… dungeon water is equivalent to poison so that's a big no. The map and compass are gone and there are low chances of another group entering this dungeon for another week.'

'So I only have two choices… either accept my death or attempt to solo a boss and destroy the dungeon core.'

'hmm'

'Might as well try.'

Quickly turning around he bolted down the corridor. From the previous fight, he knew that there might be numerous holes or other creatures under the floor, not even mentioning numerous tunnels and traps all around him. Captain started to gradually slow down, coming to a complete halt when he reached the tunnel in which that abnormal hid from them.

'...'

giving it the last glance he slowly started to walk. Captain made sure that he inspected the floor, walls and selling. With each step, he drew closer to the crystal arena. During that walk, he entered numerous rooms. The crystals were either bitten or snapped off. Evedating Edgars' work. Captain kept walking forward, he turned the corner and saw a long passage but before he took another step forward he felt the soil under his feet becoming softer. Using his sword he picked it a couple of times before noticing a small rabbit hall with a nasty angle.

'It wanted us to chase Itself.. so that we would damage our tenders.'

He then bent down to take a closer look and found some small crystal rocks and sharpened pebbles.

'Clear bustard'

The Captain looked around and tried to find anything suspicious. but apart from the floor, everything looked in order. leaning against the wall he swiftly crossed the corridor before turning the corner again. but this time he noticed a wall having a different colour.

'A hidden passage!'

Gathering some mana into his sword he used yet another skill. The blade sliced through the dirt like butter revealing another corridor.

'...'

Looking left and right, the Captain had to choose one of the paths. He was considering all the possibilities, however, his ears picked up the monsters' horde noises.

'...'

lightly thrusting his sword into the soil, he tapped it and let it fall.

'So right it is.'

picking up his sword, the human captain started to move again. Unlike previously, the number of rabbit halls decreased, everything looked normal, quiet and… peaceful. There was no sign of an abnormal creature or his minions.

'Should I go back? No, it might be another one of his traps… He wants me to believe that I made a wrong choice and go back.'

turn after turn Captain drew closer and closer until he saw a passage to a massive open area. When he walked in he expected some sort of barrier to appear or a creature to jump at him. yet nothing happened. He only saw an open room, with crystal doors on the other side. He was about to move forward when some crystals fell from the ceiling. looking up he saw a creature… That pafoot which killed his party. standing on one of the crystal bridges while eyeing him.

Without fear, the Captain took a step forward, while speaking in a different language.

"Finally decided to show your hideous face, you abomination!"

He didn't care if the creature understood him. All he saw was a target, a prey that he had to hunt down, and exterminate before it became a threat, a menace to neighbouring kingdoms. Like in any anime since shadows gather around his helmet masking it before one red eye ignited under the mask.

"Show me all you got!"

I'd respond with the dark blue aura of Edgars' body, with all his eyes pulsing blue light. Without hesitation, he jumped down and started to stumble toward the human.

Both started with a slow walk before bolting toward each other. Their eyes live a zigzag line of different colours behind each step. Red and blue, Human and A beast, the distance between them kept growing shorter and when only a meter was left…

Humann's captain performed an overhead dive attack.

He was aiming directly at Edagars' head.
