The palace was decorated very beautifully too and other preparations were being made for the wedding between Elena and Esteban. King Marcus was the one stuck in a dilemma. He had no idea how he was going to convince his son to be married, his son was carefree and loved when things were done his way. He didn't like being told what to do not that he was even ever around to be told what to do.
He had agreed to the marriage because it was a good decision for his people and with the arrival of the black blood alpha he was even more worried. He needed fewer enemies to survive, if he was to fight with the old and new enemies then he was sure to lose. His heart was full of worry and his son's whereabouts were unknown to him.
He sent his guards out to go and find him but he knew that they won't be able to find him. He was not a man to go back on his words but if he didn't find his son then Atria will think him a liar and then they would go to war. "Where are you son?" he asked the wind.
"Right here," replied his son jumping down from one of the huge trees.
"What is with you and trees, one would think that you are a monkey rather than a werewolf," he stated.
"A handsome monkey that is right?" he joked and hugged his father.
"I have something important I need to discuss with you," he said to his son. "I know everything and yes I have no problem with your decision," he replied before his father could speak further.
"That is good to hear. Let's go inside and see the princess," he instructed and they left the garden and went back inside the palace.
The princess was standing at the rooftop of the palace looking down at her kingdom. She had a lot on her mind that she couldn't celebrate her victory. She was feeling so many things all at the same time that it frightened her, she couldn't make sense of her emotions, and went that just made things worse. She stood there with no thoughts running through her mind, she needed a break and that is what she was doing.
Her ears picked up footsteps behind her but she didn't turn around. She kept staring at her kingdom while her mind relaxed. "Princess, I would like to introduce you to my son. This is Esteban," said the king of Izmia.
Elena turned around slowly and glanced at Esteban, her blood boiled with anger. She wished to rip him to pieces but he was the only one who knew the answers that she was seeking so she held back. "I am Elena of Atria," she introduced herself.
"Nice to meet you, Elena," replied Esteban.
"I will give the two of you the chance to talk and get to know one another," said Marcus before he excused himself and left. Esteban waited for his father to get out of sight before he hugged Elena from behind.
"Did you miss me," he whispered seductively in her ear but Elena didn't react to it. "Are you angry with me?" he asked her but she didn't reply. Elena has clear her mind of everything and tuned out all sounds around her, she was tired from all the thinking that she had done since her birthday. She has done and felt so many things that she had in her 500 years in life. She turned off her humanity switch and became void of emotions so she couldn't feel Esteban's touch.
Esteban used his power of compulsion to get in her head but when he saw that it was empty he left. He let her go and took a seat on top of the wall and just stared at her. Just like the princess he had a few questions about the woman he was getting married to. The princess seemed innocent at first glance, she is spoilt when she wants something. She becomes a completely different person when she wants things to go her way and when she was angry she was different too.
Her parents were both pure blue blood and yet she has werewolf blood in her veins. She is a true black blood tribrid and the most dangerous person in the whole of the Enchanted. When it comes to magic, she practices such dangerous magic like expressions and as a wolf, she is so powerful that her howl alone is enough to make her rule over Izmia. He watched her and wondered what her origins were because there was no way that she was of ordinary birth.
If he was not wrong then the princess is probably adopted. He has to find out all that he could about Elena and what she was capable of. She had done so much in a few days and got exactly what she wanted and no one even suspected her, he was impressed and a little scared of how her mind works.
Elena turned her humanity switch back on and let her thoughts free, she opened her eyes and looked at Esteban. They stared at each other but none of them wanted to say anything to ruin the moment but Elena had things she wanted answers to.
"I did as you wished now it's time for you to give me answers," she said and he got up and walked to her. There was only an inch of space in between them. "I said I would tell you after we got married not before. You have created that opportunity but we aren't married yet so I won't say a word," he said and Elena nodded and turned around and walked away from him. "I hate werewolves," she thought as she left.
Elena walked back to her room slowly thinking of how by sunset the next day she was going to be a married woman. Had it been before then she would have been happy but now she was just sad. She missed and longed for her grandmother to come to her and tell her everything was going to be fine. She felt her dislike for Esteban grow with every passing moment. She was worried and scared about everything that was happening to her but he only cared about getting married to her.
He could put her mind at peace and help her by telling her what he knew but he wouldn't. Her reasons for marrying him were shifting slowly. She was now merely doing it as a business transaction and not for the feelings that had formed in her heart for him. She was pushing those feelings deep down in her heart without realizing it. She wholly watched the decorations and didn't feel anything. She was neither impressed by them nor disappointed by them.
She walked past her room and headed to the east wing of the palace. She walked to the room at the end of the corridor and pushed the doors open and went inside. She ran to the bed and sat down, she picked up the photo by the bedside and gazed at it. Her eyes teared up as she looked at the photo.
"Mom," she cried and placed the photo on her chest. "I miss you so much, life is not easy without you."
