Elena cried in her parent's room for hours, she felt alone in the world. She was a princess and she loved being of royal blood but she hated how lonely it could get sometimes. The people in her life were either of a lower class than her or afraid to be close to her.

She has no real friends as those who were in life were there out of duty and not for love. And the one she thought would teach her how to love and be happy had turned their relationship into a transaction. She was scared that when there was nothing more for them to exchange then he would leave her. She dreaded the thought of ending up alone one day. But she felt alone despite being surrounded by so many people.

Memories of a time when she knew true happiness flooded her mind. Her tears flowed down at the memories that reminded her of everything that she had lost. She has lost love in her life and that there was a big void in her heart that yearned to receive love from anyone.

She got up from the bed used her magic to clean herself and left the room. Today was her engagement and she had to look her best and smile. She walked to the garden with a bright smile on her face.

"You activated your curse," she heard from her side and looked up.

"What?"

"The curse of pure black blood. They have all three genes in their blood but it depends on her parents. You seem to possess werewolf, vampire, and witch roots and that is why you can be all three," explained Esteban.

"What?" she asked him not understanding what he was going on about.

"What I am trying to say is simple," he said taking her to a nearby chair and helping her seat before he took a seat next to her.

"Yesterday when you fed, it was a human that you attacked and you killed her. A werewolf curse is activated when you take a life and that is why you transformed in the forest. You are the child of the moon so the day turned into night as you transformed to bless you and announce your arrival to the world. You are a true black blood Alpha and that means that you in a way are the leader of most shapeshifters."

"How can that be possible when both my parents were vampires. My dad was a blue blood vampire while my mom was a black blood vampire. I can't have werewolf genes in my blood, it is not possible," she said in disbelief.

"I understand your point and why you would say that, I wasn't sure too and that is why I put forth the condition. While you were busy with the plan I did my research to clear my doubts. I found out that only when a black blood female mates with a pure werewolf can their offspring be a tribrid. If that is true then I am afraid that the late king was not your father," he announced and she stared at him with shock in her eyes.

Elena sat quietly in her seat replaying Esteban's words in her head over and over again trying to make sense of what he was saying. How can it be possible that her dad wasn't her dad and if he wasn't her dad then who was? She had a lot of questions and the only one who had the answers was busy taking a nap while her world was turning upside.

"How are you sure that he wasn't my father?" she asked him composing herself to hear everything.

"Because of this," he said removing a journal from his vest. "I found it in my grandfather's library," he added and gave her the journal.

"What is this?" she asked looking at the journal.

"It is your mother's, she wrote everything about her life before she married the king. It about her love story with your father, you can read it later but all you need to know is that she only married the king to hide her affair with him."

"My father, what is his name?" she inquired from him.

"Luis is his first name, she didn't mention his last name," he told. "I am sorry that I didn't tell you earlier, I just wanted to have all the facts before I said anything," he explained and hugged her. Elena hugged him back and cried on his shoulder. All the things that she found out were too much for her to bear. Everything that she had ever known turned out to be a lie and she might not be what she had known them to be. She was clueless on what to do about the fact that she had been living a lie for most of her life.

Esteban helped Elena to relax as people started arriving at the garden for the Engagement party. They took their seats next to each other, as the people were busy mingling with each other he took her arm and brought it to his lips.

"Can I?" he asked and she nodded not knowing what he was going to do but she had no energy to find out. His eyes turned a deep shade of brown and his fangs before he bit her and drank her blood. Elena screeched as he bites her but the pain went away as fast as it came. She started feeling a lot better and more energetic, all the negative energy left her and she felt light. She had no idea how he was doing it but she felt good. "Feeling better?"

"Yes, thank you," she mouthed to him as he let her hand down and wiped his lips with the back of his hand. He felt so happy that he was able to lighten her mood, her blood tasted so good that it took all of him not to suck her veins dry. He had read in his grandfather's journal that drinking black blood vampire's blood can make a wolf three times more powerful than a normal wolf. But only if he/she allows you to drink from their veins, if they don't agree then their blood will kill you the minute it enters your veins.

Having such a powerful person seat next to him for the rest of his life scared him as much as it made him feel safe. Elena watched as more and more guests walked into the garden. Some were overdressed while other were underdressed but very few balanced their outfit. They had come to advertise the wealth they possess and show off at her engagement. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at them.

"Do you hate me?" asked a worried Esteban.

"Why would you ask me that?" she questioned

"You seemed very upset when I refused to answer you before. I thought you might hate me so I told you everything I knew."

"No, for telling me the truth and going an extra mile to get all the facts right for me is the most beautiful thing anyone has ever done for me. I appreciate everything you've done for me since you came into my life. I love you," she confessed.
