Engagement (3)

The celebrations went on fine as the guests were enjoying themselves. The drinks and snacks were passed around the room, the music played in the background, and the entertainers performed for them. The couple sat and enjoyed the dances performed in their honor. For the first time in the history of Atria, the palace was full of werewolves and witches. It was a given that the palace would be full.

King Marcus was happy that his son was finally getting married and to a sensible queen at that. He planned to hand over the crown to his son as a wedding gift and that way they would rule over both Atria and Izmia. He kept singing Elena's praises at the party and he made sure that everyone saw just how happy he was with the marriage.

Elena and Esteban were having a moment drowning in the feelings that they have for each other. Lola and the other lady royals mingled with the nobles and tried to find good husbands for themselves. Paloma was the only one not in the mood to party and remained in her. Seat coming back from the dead was still something that she was yet to come to terms with. She was traumatized about the things that had happened and took it to step by step to get back to the girl that she used to be.

Elena had been busy with everything going on in her life that she was yet to visit her or check up on her. She was happy that her life was not straying away from the road that she had written for herself. She had just one more thing to accomplice before she sits on her throne. The queen of Enchansia had insulted her and she was yet to forget it and she will teach her a lesson.

Revenge as often said is a dish best served cold and she had no heart according to Regina so it will be a piece of cake for her to get her revenge. She sat with a smile on her face as she came up with a plan to destroy Regina. She as a queen would surely need a witch at her beck and call and who better to do the job than Regina.

"I will you reduce you from grace to grass Regina," she said under her breath with anger in her eyes. Her eyes watched the queen of Enchansia keenly, she wanted to enjoy the happy expression on her face because she won't be able to see the face again after that day. The queen will only know sorrow and unhappiness for the rest of her life if she had anything to say about it.

Esteban nudged her from the side to get her attention. She turned her head to face him and raised her eyebrows in the question of what he wanted. Esteban removed the rings from his pocket and showed them to her. "I think that we should run away and get engaged elsewhere. These people are taking forever to unite us," he complained with a pout.

Elena laughed at how cute he looked. 'I wish that you will stay with me forever and never leave me for any reason,' she said in her heart. Elena thanked her mother for sending Esteban into her life, she turned around and concentrated on the dancers in the middle of the room. She was getting a weird feeling and her instincts were telling her that something bad was about to happen. She let her eyes wander around in the room trying to see why she was getting such a bad feeling.

Her mood went down and she dropped too. Her heart and mind became worried about what was to come, her instincts have never been wrong before and the fact that she had a bad feeling got her worried. She got up from her seat and went down to the crowd. Everyone made way for her and let her pass while others followed her with their eyes.

Elena didn't care about any of them and went out of the garden and ran to the lake. The feeling in her heart refused to go away despite her being her comfort place. "Come out," she said looking at the forest.

"How did you know that I was here?"

"I am a vampire, I can detect even the smallest of sounds and I have a very good sense of my surrounding," she replied and glanced at the man who disturbed her peace.

"I am having a few problems and I will need a few more bloods from you," informed the man who didn't come out of the shadows. Elena cut her wrist and let her blood flow, she used her magic to get a bucket that collected her blood. Her blood continued to flow and collect in the bucket until it was full. Her wound healed and the man in the shadows lifted the bucket using magic and left with it. He disappeared into the forest the same way that he had arrived.

She hoped that the issue with her plan was the problem that worried her but the feeling never left her. It kept sending warning signals to her but she had no idea what the problem was or how to avoid it. She touched the Phoenix sword on her waist and felt a little assured that all will be well. She had a dream to fulfill and she was not going to stop at anything to get what her heart truly desires. She kept her hand on top of her chest and listened to the heightened heartbeat. The worry in her heart was something that she couldn't ignore but couldn't stop either.

She went back to the garden for her engagement but she didn't let her worry show on her face. She smiled and walked with elegance as she entered the garden. The guests had their eyes on her and admired how beautiful she looked in her dress.

The ring ceremony soon arrived and they stood up to exchange the rings. Esteban was the first to put a ring in her hand and the crowd cheered. Elena took the ring, held Esteban's hand, and looked into his eyes. She made him wear the ring and the crowd applauded for them. The orchestra played a slow song and they danced together at the center of the room. The nobles from the kingdoms watched in awe at how good they danced. They looked like a match made in heaven as they moved to the slow beats of the song.

When the song ended Elena and her fiancee took their seats allowing others to dance. Elsie rose from her seat and approached Esteban, she asked him for a dance and he agreed. Elsie and Esteban hit the dance floor and were given the chance to dance. The music played and they did a slow dance.

"Why did you ask me to dance with you?" Esteban asked out of curiosity.

"Why can't I ask the man I am expected to live with for the rest of my life for a dance?"

"I didn't think anyone was brave enough to do that with Elena seated right next to me," he explained.

"I know Elena is evil but I just have to understand her. All I want is for us to get along with each other," she said.

Elena's eyes met with that of Regina. "I told you so," Regina mouthed to her. Her heart was filled with rage but more than that the weird feeling she had increased immensely. She looked at Regina and then at Elsie and frowned, she now knew the source of her problems but what the two were up to was mysterious to her.
