Epione. No, Eos had returned to the life of being a Monciaux. Returning to the poreclain white estate which spanned over hectares of land which was exclusive to the Monciaux, "Lady Monciaux! There has been an incident with the Madame and the Young Master." Alerted by this situation Eos urged to servant to lead the way. They ran. There was no need to care about etiquette and the presentation of oneself when Eos was the only one able to break the fight. Sounds of glass or porcelain breaking could be heard from the corridor more-so than the shout from the Madame and the heir.
Eos cautiously opened the door to witness the Madame throwing priceless vintage porcelain vases crafted by artisan craftsman from oversea. The broken pieces meant nothing to the woman who was having an angry fit. Dodging the flying debris that was resulting from the Madame tunnel vision being locked on to the heir who was trying to appease his mother.
Eos sighed as she grabbed the Madame's arm, "Madame, your temper tantrum is becoming quite the nuisance for everyone, so I suggest you discontinue this behaviour of yours." This effectively stopped her, however, now her anger was targeted on Eos. Eos sigh seeing the Madame trying to struggle against her and a bunch of slurs came raining down but to her dismay it had no effect on Eos, "Someone take the young master while I handle the Madame here." The servant quickly obliged her order seeing that staying in this room was only asking to clean up the horrendous mess.
The Madame managed to shake Eos' grip, "I can't believe a wrench like you was able to brainwash my baby boy!" Her crazed eyes were locked onto Eos like a drugged bat. Eos rotated her wrist seeing that the Madame managed to hurt her, "The duke should have killed your parents like I suggested!" Her ragged breathing was deemed a nuisance until she had mentioned killing Eos' parents. The air surrounding Eos changed; the calming nature around instantly disappeared.
Her lime honey eyes darkened into a brilliant gold, "Kill my parents?" Walking to the Madame who instant shivering hearing the dead monotonous voice coming from Eos. The Madame was shocked to see the once frightened girl turn out like this, "If you decide to touch my parents in any way then be prepare to suffer retribution." She was a predator ready to devour everything in its path. Eos gestured towards the remaining servants that were assigned here to clean up the mess here, including the Madame.
As Eos was preparing to leave the room seeing that they wasn't anything left to do, "Don't you dare touch me!" Swatting any hand that came close to her before storming towards Eos who had already predicted that she would try to hurt her like in the past where she was a child, "You are a conniving child!" Eos wasn't a child. Not anymore.
All Eos had to do was dodge as the Madame tried to grab her hair. Seeing her centre of gravity was leaning forward making tumble towards the ground, however, Eos wouldn't let me. Her finger bundled in and around the Madame's hair, "You don't listen well, do you?" She pulled the hair upwards so that they faces lined up with one another. The Madame could only shriek from the pain as she tried to pry Eos' hand off. Eos, on the other hand, was unwavering as she slapped the Madame across the face.
The slap was unexpected piercing to the ears especially to everyone in the room. No one expected the lady of the house to retaliate against anyone since she was alway a passive person, an observer. Tilting her head in a playful manner, "Let's see how far I'm willing to go to break you and if this is how you going to continue then," Her expression however playful was undermined by the obvious seething annoyance, "Let's make a wager." The Madame was finally stunned completely frightened. Seeing the fighting spirit in the Madame had dissipated, Eos released her deathly grip on her hair letting the haggard woman fall to her knees in complete and utter defeat.
After the commotion, gossip of the Madame finally settling down after that incident spread throughout the estate fast. Silas was rushing to the corridor leading to his mother's wing to see Eos calmly walking out of the room as if nothing disastrous happened in the room, "Are you alright?" He clamped onto Eos' shoulder inspecting all that was visible to him, "Did you get hurt?" Those simple questions shocked Eos who was in a daze.
The head butler has came prepared with a first aid kit prepared at the ready for any wounds that would need immediate attention. However, there were no wounds, bruises, or any dishevelment of her clothes. It was a terrible thought, but the butler had prepared to tend to the usually battered and injured Eos, "My Lady, your hand." Though she may not have noticeable injuries the butler hadn't missed the red palm on Eos' hand. He extended his gloved hand to which Eos gave for him to apply a cooling ointment before lightly wrapping it, "I shall return back to my position, my lady." Placing his hand to his chest, bowing.
Eos began walking through the corridor, which was quite mixed emotions amongst the servants, but it didn't concern her since her state of mind was quite blurred, "Eos?" A hand waved in her vision as she quickly became stumped in her path, "I think you should go to the house doctor to get check-up." She had not realised that she was walking without much thought or a direction.
Eos nodded as she was directed by Silas to the doctor's wing where the house doctor was tending to an unusual of the house's knights, "I can't believe that they upped the intensity of training." One of the knights complained as he rubbed a sore shin. All the other knights hummed in agreement as they patiently waited for their turn to get some treatment.
Other knight who was being tended by the doctor nodded in agreement, "It's not like there is anything much to defend against since we live in peace." He winced as the doctor tightened the bandage as he gave a knowing glare which instantly shut the knight up, "Can't be helped, Duke's orders." They clamoured up knowing that the doctor was trying to hush the knights from speaking anymore that could affect the duke's reputation. The knights could only tighten their lips in respond to the doctor's subtle warning.
Eos, however, was suspicious of the duke's reason to re-enact on such an order. There was no reason to since the knight's statement was true. They did live in an era of peace ever since the magic war that occurred centuries ago was the war that ended pretty much all the wars. There weren't any certain magical or political threats. Since the only magic folk that were stranded on here were weak spirits and fairies who could barely harm human. She looked over to Silas who had a dark expression on his face, and he began to walk into the doctor's room, however, Eos stopped before he did anything stupid.
Eos shook her head as she dragged him away from the doctor's room and both went to her private office. Eos pulled out a key from the pockets in her dress, slotting it into the keyhole before opening. After both entered the room, "Eos, does my father plan to do a coup d'état?" Silas was quick witted about silent messages in conversations ever since he became known as drunkard in high society and still now when he was trying to be the heir apparent of the Monciaux Dukedom.
Eos placed a hand on his shoulder, "Honestly, though there isn't any definite proof, but I think he is." She didn't want to sugar coat anything since she was the one to bring him up so it was only expected that she gives him the truth, "He might had been planning this ever since he bought me to the family as a daughter." Explaining her existence in the Monciaux Dukedom. A noble woman could easily be used as a political marriage tool to tie two families together, however, the men that the duke had tried to set Eos with was with one of the two Prince.
He specifically wants the prince that was currently the Crown Prince since it would guarantee their position beside the royal family but also have the Monciaux bloodline intertwined with the royal bloodline. The fact the duke tried to do that to Eos was only inside knowledge that was tied to Eos, and it will remain that way. However, she had managed to black mail the deter the Crown Prince from marrying her through from convincing background digging of some dirty history.
Silas was stunned to hear that his father had tried to do that to Eos, "How? How, were you able to live like this?" He had never fully understood how Eos was able to live the lifestyle she lived in. He only grew up on the lifestyle of being a noble, being fed with a silver spoon.
Eos paused as she was replaying through her memories of her childhood till now; she had never complained, never fought back, understood her role as a vassal. It was until now that she was playing her life in her head that she realised how alone she really was. Stripped of her childhood and youth. Eos released a trembling breath, "Truth be told, I don't know how I even survived all these years." All sorts of emotions came rushing to Eos making her head spin like crazy.
Eos staggered as she tried to keep herself upright, tightening her grip on the table that support her weight unlike her legs which had suddenly loss all strength. Eventually, everything surrounding her felt like she was being tumbled into soundless ball. A pit of nauseous sat at the bottom of her stomach, "Eos — you, okay? What's — on?" Silas' voice was muffled by the swirling sensation in her head. Eos could barely make out of words that were coming out of her head.
Before Silas was able to get help a tug had prevented him from leaving, "Don't get the doctor," Curling her head in between her head made the dizziness more bearable, "Get the butler." To which Silas complied as he took the key that was given to him by Eos.
The dizziness soon eventually began to subside as the butler entered the room, "My Lady, you have to rest," Removing his glove before checking her temperature. It was a little warm but nothing too serious, "You have been in a lot of stress today." Gesturing to the young master to carry the lady who was incapacitated from the stress that had been building up. The butler followed behind the young master who was carrying the barely conscious Eos, occasionally grunting in pain.
Silas would panic whenever Eos would move as he was unsure whether she was uncomfortable because of how he was holding her or whether her fever was causing her pain. Occasionally he would stop in his tracks so he could carefully adjust her position in his arm so that it would be more comfortable for her. The scene was quite heart-warming for the head butler who was surprised to see the Young Master being considerate to Eos firsthand, though awkward it still showed that he did care for Eos even if it was just recently. It was almost as if they were siblings.
Soon, talk about the Madame and the young lady Eos incident in the Monciaux Dukedom spread throughout the region that the Monciaux domains over. But eventually the word got out and the word spread through high society which eventually caused the Madame to be a social outcast. Eos, unfortunately, was assaulted with welfare messages from many ladies of high society, some familiar while others unfamiliar. Bouquets of flowers lined her room, decorating the minimalist room with some colour and fragrance which was much appreciated by Eos who loved flowers.
Silas and the head butler were much more attentive with Silas being the most direct giving her nutritious meals and taking over most of her duties to allow her to rest. But Eos quickly made it clear that her health was fine and that she would resume her work and return to the high society scene.
A personal maid had sorted out numerous amounts of invitations which Eos was grateful for since it was such a monotonous task. A few party invitations stuck out to Eos: The Bassett Lady's tea party, Cybele birthday and the soft opening of Vanity Mask's capital store. All which would be a good start for Eos could return to the high society scene. Eos would attend these parties it that order since they were on different dates.
Eos made a dress making appointment with Penni would immediately go to workaholic mode, making a dress perfect for Eos' social outing. For the tea party at the Bassett house; it was a similar design to the other dress she wore to the Baroness' Ball especially the base colour was a cream white with the bishop sleeves. The collar was the same green as the cuffs which was embroidered with a rose gold thread of leaves. A simple ribbon was wrapped around her waist in the same colour of the cuffs and collar gave a pop of colour amongst the cream white dress.
