A little secret.

School's over and I'm at my locker putting my books away when Jaxon walks up to me.

"Hey." I jump a little when I hear his voice. "Sorry about that." He leans on Chelsea's locker.

"It's alright. Hi by the way." I close my locker and turn to him. "Okay, where to first?"

"You're in charge, lead the way." He gestures with his hands and I smile.

I take him around the school. The lunchroom, the field, the clubrooms, the auditorium, and the library.

"This is one of my favorite places in the school." I say when we reached the library.

"So you love to read." He states and I chuckle.

"It's not that actually. You see, when I want some peace and quiet, a place to relax, a place to clear my mind, I come to the library."

"Wow. That's a different way of defining a library. 'A place that refreshes your mind." I laugh.

"For me that is." I say after I calmed down.

"You know, we've known each other for a day and I don't still know your name. I'm pretty sure you know mine. Don't you think that's a little unfair?"

"Oh um.....I didn't know that." He smiles.

"And now you do. So what's the name."

"Summer Hathaway."

"Hathaway. Nice name."

"T-t-thanks."

"You are cute when you stutter." He winks.

Ohmygod

Jaxon Prinston just called me CUTE!!!!

"T-t-thanks." I smile.

"Can I let you on a little secret?" He asks and I nod.

"Sure."

"Austin has already given me a tour of the school during lunch."

Wait

What?

"Then why-"

"Just wanted to spend some time with the girl who bumped into my heart."

Oh

my

goodness

"Wha-"

"Wanna get some ice cream so I can know you better?" He asks.

Is Jaxon Prinston asking me out?

"If you want to call it that, then yes." He smiles and my eyes widens.

"I-i-i ohmygod. I didn't know I said that out loud."

"It's alright."

"It's embarrassing." I cover my face.

"It's cute actually. So wanna get ice cream?"

"Sure." He smiles and we both walk to the parking lot.

"There's a little problem though." I state when we get outside.

"What's up."

"I brought my car." He looks confused. "You know, with my car and your car. How-"

"Wait. Who told you I brought a car?" He asks with amusement.

"So you came with...." I trail off.

"A bike."

"A what?" I ask again.

"A bike. Like bicycle."

"Oh." I sigh in relief. "For a moment there I thought you meant a motorbike."

"Oh I do have one. And also a car but I just decided to go old school."

"But I'm afraid your bike can't fit in my car."

"It's no worries. I'll catch a lift with Austin tommorow."

"If that's the case, wanna drive?" I bring out my keys.

"I want to see you drive." He points at me and I nod.

"No problem then." I walk to my car and unlock it. We both settle in and I drive out of school.

Twenty minutes later, I drive us to my favorite ice cream place. 'Fan ice.'

"Here we are." I park and get out of the car.

"You are not bad at driving." Jaxon also gets out.

"What do you mean?" I ask as we walk inside.

"I'm not saying you are terrible at it, you are not just-"

"Hey, welcome to Fan ice. What can I getcha?" The lady behind the counter interuppts Jaxon.

"Hi" Jaxon greets her.

"What were you about to say?"

"Nevermind." He drops the subject and I glare at the lady.

Way to go Cindy. Now I don't know what he thinks about my driving.

"I'd like chocolate and vanilla." Jaxon says and looks at me. "You?"

"Mint chocolate."

"Really? Mint?" He raises an eyebrow.

"What? It's delicious."

"It tastes like toothpaste." He argues.

"Toothpaste or not, I still love it." I say and he just smiles.

"Here you both go." 'Cindy' hands out our ice cream and we go have our seats.

"So tell me about yourself Hathaway."

"What do you want to know?" He shrugs.

"Anything. Everything."

My heart skips a beat.

"Okay, well you know my name. I'm a girl obiv. Well,"

"What are your hobbies." He asks and my eyes lit up.

"Oh. I love hiking, writing, swimming-"

"Wait. Did you just say writing?" I nod.

"Yeah. I have like six finished stockpiled books just sitting in my room waiting to be published."

"Cool. Favorite color?"

"Green." I say in a heartbeat.

"Favorite sport?"

"Don't have one."

"Things you find romantic in a guy?"

"Um-" The question took me back a little. "I did not expect that question."

"It's alright if you don't want to answer."

"It's just that-" His phone rings, interrupting me.

He brings it out from his bag and answers it.

"Hello?"

"Yeah."

"No of course sure."

"I'll see you there." He hangs up and smiles at me.

"Sorry, that was my sister."

"You have a sister?"

"Yeah. Um. I'm sorry, I have to go. Something just came up."

"No it's alright. I hope it's nothing." He stands.

"It's cool actually. I'm so sorry." I shake my head and I also stand.

"It's alright. But how are you going to get home?"

"I'll call a cab. I'm sorry again."

"It's seriously no problem."

"Thanks, I'll make it up to you." He says and walks away while I just wave.

"Sure." I mutter as I sit down to finish my ice cream.
