Football game.

"Hey babe." Austin joins us at our table during lunch and hugs Chelsea from the back. "Summer." He nods towards me.

"Austin." I nod back.

"Hey girls." Jaxon sits beside me.

"Hey."

"Hi." We both reply.

"So you coming to my game this Friday?" Austin asks Chelsea.

Austin's our school captain. Although I may not like him much, he's still a good player.

"Of course." She faces me. "I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world."

"Great." He kisses her forehead.

"I'm thinking of going for tryouts." Jaxon says aloud.

"That's great news." I turn to him.

"Yeah. I don't know if I'll be able to make it though."

"Trust me dude, you'll be the best they've got. Aftet me of course." Austin says and Jaxon chuckles.

"But I'll see how you guys will play on Friday. Got to know your game before tryouts."

"You going to the game on Friday?" I ask him.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I? You are going too right?"

"Of course." I scoff. "Why wouldn't I?" Chelsea chokes on her drink.

"I thought a 'particular someone' said it was a waste of time." She says.

"Whaaattt. That person must be crazy. Besides, it's the first game of the season. Who wouldn't want to go for the first game of the season?!"

"I know right!" Jaxon shakes his head.

"I know a certain someone." Chelsea mutters and I glare at her.

"So I come pick you up Friday?" Jaxon asks me and I'm about to say yes when Chelsea interuppts.

"Hold your horses there big guy. Summer's 'bout to go to her 'first football game', and you want her to go with you?"

"First?" He looks at me confused.

"Well you see-"

"Don't you go changing the subject, I'm talking to you." Again, Chelsea interuppts. "Summer's coming with me. You both can meet each other at the field later."

"What about me then?" Austin points to himself.

"You always get there like five hours early. Jaxon can ride with you or something."

"Well, that settles it." I say out loud

......

FRIDAY.

Today's the game and I'm currently dressed in a black top tucked in a grey nylon jogger pants and white sneakers. I decided to go with a black cross bag and I le my hair down. I put minimal makeup on and I'm good to go.

We had all come from school so we could get ready while Austin stayed behind in school for whatever they do before a game.

I walk out my room, walk downstairs and notice everywhere's quiet. I then realize I'm home alone.

My dad's working late, and my mom has a night shift.

These are the times I wished I had a sibling.

At least those nasty thoughts wouldn't cloud my mind.

I walk to the kitchen to grab an apple. Before I could take a bite, I hear Chelsea's car horn.

I roll my eyes because she hits the horn repeatedly.

I walk outside and lock the door.

"Jeez I'm coming." immediately I say that, she presses the horn harder.

The perks of being rich is that you can drive any fucking car you want. So Chelsea decided to use that as an advantage.

She drives a grey Audi rs5 coupe.

Sick I know right?

I open the door and I settle in.

"You do know I heard you right?" I put on my seat belt.

"I know. I just felt like playing a lil bit." She shrugs and starts driving.

Chelsea is dressed in a white top tucked in a peach elastic waist loose fit shorts, and white ankle boots. She paired it with a white cross body that's sitting at back seat.

"Ready for your first game?!" She shouts and I laugh.

"Calm down Chelsea."

"Calm down?! You are going for your first game since freshman year and you're telling me to calm down?!" She scoffs. "I'm just disappointed you're going because of a guy and not because I persuaded you to."

"Well, at least I'm going."

"But I kinda wish I was the one who made you come. Not some hot dude."

"Well, you are not wrong about him being hot."

"When have I ever been wrong?" She asks and flips her hair.

We get to the school in minutes and I see cars parked everywhere.

"Is it always this crowded?" I asks as Chelsea finds a parking spot.

"You have no idea. It even makes it worse since it's the playoffs."

"Sick."

She parks her car and we both get down.

The football pitch is like 300 yards from the school, so we have to walk a little bit.

On the way to the pitch, I saw the other team's fans in their team's jersey.

"Those are called the opponent fans." Chelsea says and I roll my eyes.

"Funny. So who are we playing against?"

"Stanford High."

"Wait. You mean the school with the snotty rich kids?" She nods.

"Aren't we all snotty rich kids?"

"I know I'm not." I state.

"We should get some snacks before the game starts."

"Why?"

"Well once the game starts, you'll be too immersed to want to get a snack." She pulls me to the snack bar.

"Is football that interesting?" I ask and she puts a hand on her chest and gasps.

"Summer Hathaway, I'm disappointed you know nothing about football!"

"Yeah yeah." I roll my eyes. "Extra mustard please." I say to the man serving my hot dog. He nods and adds more.

Chelsea pays for the hot dogs and I pay for drinks.

We hand in our tickets and walk into the field. It looks like the normal football stadiums I see on television.

Two goalposts, 4 flags at each corner, a big field with white chalk marked on it, and two large bleachers where we the fans sit to cheer the players on.

We take our seat on the third row.

"So," I began after we had settled down. "How does this work?"

"You were serious when you said you knew nothing about football?" She asks and I shrug.

"I mean I have watched a few games, but I don't just get it."

"Okay," She sighs. "Tell me what you know."

"Well, I know the players have to score in order to win and I know it's a 45 minutes game of two rounds. But I don't just get the numbers and the players and stuff."

"Wow. You really don't know much." She sighs. "I guess I'll have to start from the very beginning."
