Experiment

Jaxon had practice after school. And as his 'driver', I had to wait for him.

The only students left in the school were the ones who had detention, the nerds, the sports team, and the ones who wanted to smoke a thing or two before going home.

I didn't want to stay in the school. It was bad enough that school took seven hours of my day, everyday, now it wants to take part of my free time too?

I just couldn't stand it.

So, I decided to sit outside on the hood of Jaxon's car, my earphones plugged in and I was reading a webtoon.

I mean, it's my car for the week. I can do anything I want with it right?

So for two hours straight, I was reading death note while listening to kpop on my phone.

I was so immersed in what I was reading, I didn't know nor hear when Jaxon joined me.

My back hurt from sitting so I rested my back on the windshield..

He startles me by removing one ear of my earphone.

"Ohmygod."

He puts it in his ear.

"What song is this?" He asks me.

"Monster by EXO."

"Kpop?" He hands me back the earphone and I remove the other.

"Yeah." I nod.

"Do you even understand what they are saying?"

"I don't have to understand it. I feel it."

"I can never understand you girls." He shakes his head and sits up. "So, ready to go?"

"Actually, I don't want to go home yet." I play with my fingers as I don't leave my position.

"Truthfully, me neither."

"Why?" I look at him.

"Well, my sister would be home bugging the hell out of me, and if my mom's home, it'd be worse."

"No peace of mind huh?" I smile.

"At all. How about you?"

I look back at my fingers.

"I'd be alone."

He doesn't say anything so I chuckle softly.

"My dad doesn't come home till late at night, and sometimes, my mom doesn't come home at all because of her shifts."

"So you are mostly alone?"

"Not usually." I sit up. "I'm always with Chelsea. But today, her dad has this function that starts by six so she had to leave early."

"Now if Chelsea's busy and no one's at home, you can always drop by at my house." He uses his shoulder to push me a little.

"Thanks."

"So wanna play a game?" He rests on the windshield again.

"What game?" I also rest on the windshield.

"How about 20 questions?" He suggests.

"You go first?"

"Sure. Favorite kind of movie?"

"Horror."

"Wow. You are brave."

"Thank you. Favorite color?"

"I'm starting to love blue these days." He crosses his legs together. "Moment you'll never forget?"

Bumping into you.

"Getting my first car." I lie. "Something you look forward to everyday?"

"Seeing someone's smile."

I clear my throat.

"Is it just anybody or one person?" I turn to face him.

"That counts as two questions."

"You can also have two."

"Fine by me." He turns to me. "Just one."

"Who?"

"What do you look forward to everyday?" He changes the subject.

Damn!

"Leaving school."

"You really don't like school do you?"

"Nope."

"Pancake or bacon?" He asks again.

"I'll choose bacon over and over. First love?" I ask and he keeps quiet.

He doesn't answer for a while so I decide to speak up.

"If you don't-"

"It's this girl. Just know it's this girl.

"Ohmy." I put a head on my chest. "And here I am m, thinking it was a boy." I joke and he rolls his eyes.

"Funny." He says and I laugh.

"Name?" I ask after I calmed down.

"Can't tell ya." He winks at me. "First kiss?"

"Don't have one."

"Wait. You mean you've never kissed before?" He asks and I sit up.

"I mean, if accidentally falling on a guy's lips in fourth grade counts as kissing then yeah, I've had my first kiss."

"I mean a real first kiss." He also sits up.

"I haven't." I look at my fingers again.

"Wanna experiment?" He asks suddenly.

"What?"

"I could show you how it feels like." He tilts my head up a little and moves closer.

"I-"

"I mean, if you don't want to, I could stop." He keeps moving, slowly. "You can just say no."

"I-" I couldn't form words.

"Is it a yes or no Hathaway?"

What do I say to this?

My mind's a mess and I couldn't think straight.

By this time, his breath was fanning my face and I couldn't help but lick my lips.

"Shit." He mutters.

He moves a little bit closer and if he moves one more inch, our lips would be touching.

"Hey Jaxon!"

I jump away as if I've been scalded and Jaxon groans.

I stand upright and I clear my throat.

"What?" Jaxon asks Austin.

"You forgot your phone in the locker room." Austin throws him his phone and Jaxon catches it with ease.

"Summer." He nods to me.

You shit!

"Austin." I nod back.

There was this laughter in his eyes that told me he knew exactly what he had interuppted and he enjoyed it.

Damn you!

"I'll see you guys later." He says and walks away.

"I-" Jaxon starts but I interuppt him.

"We should go." I take my phone and hurry to the driver's seat.

Jaxon sighs, gets down and meets me in the car.
