My little bubble

"I had a lot of fun today, thanks." I say when we reach my front door.

"I wanted you to." Jaxon smiles at me. "Even though I couldn't win you the penguin, I'm still glad you had fun."

"I told you the game was rigged." I gently push him.

"And now I believe it."

After much attempts, and much loss of money, Jaxon finally agreed he couldn't win me the penguin.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" He asks.

"Of course. Goodnight." I wave at him

"Bye." He waves back.

I turn to walk away but on second thoughts, I turn and quickly give him a peck on his lips before hurrying inside.

Leaving a shocked Jaxon outside.

...

I woke up early the next day. By myself. Without my mom's call.

Usually if she isn't home or she's working a 24 hours shift at the hospital, she usually calls me on my phone to make sure I've already gotten up but she didn't today.

I got up, showered, brushed my teeth, combed my hair into a bun, dressed for school and headed to the kitchen to make toast.

On my way, I decided to phone my mom. She picks on the fourth ring.

"Hey sweetie."

"Hey mom." I put my phone on speaker and set it on the counter as I bring out the ingredients to make my toast from the fridge.

"Are you just waking up?" She asks.

"Of course not. I'm making breakfast." I set the bread in the toaster and bring out orange juice.

"What are you making?"

"Toast." I pour myself a glass and take a sip.

"Could me make me some sandwiches? I should be home in an hour."

"Kk." I turn to the fridge to bring out some vegetables.

"Mom?"

"Hmm?"

"I didn't see your call this morning. What happened?"

"Nothing really."

"Were you busy?" I ask again.

"Not really." She replies.

"You thought I wouldn't want to talk to you didn't you?"

She doesn't say anything for a moment.

"How are you feeling?" She asks instead.

"I'm fine actually. I had a talk with Jaxon yesterday and I'm relieved."

"You had a talk with Jaxon?" She sounded surprised.

"Yeah. Apparently, I was sad and he took me out to cheer me up and we had a talk."

"So you're good?" She asks.

I smile. "I'm fine mom."

"I'm glad to hear that."

The toast makes a ding and I take out my toast.

I set the sandwiches in a bowl and placed it in the fridge.

"Okay! Your sandwiches are in the fridge and ready for eating when you get back."

"Thanks honey."

"Anytime."

"I'll talk to you later honey."

"Sure. I love you."

"I love you too sweetie." She says and hangs up.

I sigh and get to my breakfast.

.....

After I was done, I locked up the house and drove to Jaxon's house.

When I got there, I saw him about to mount his bike.

I hit the horn three times and he turns to me.

He looks at me confused but I just smile.

He walks to the car and to my side.

"Hey honk. Need a ride?"

He rests on my window. "Honk?"

I just smile at him.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to give you a ride."

"You want to give me a ride?" He asks me.

"Don't you want a ride?" I ask back.

"Of course I do."

"Then hop on honk!"

"Please stop." He says and hurries to the other side of the car.

When he was about to open the door, I drive a little causing his hand to miss the door.

"Hey!" He shouts and I laugh.

"I'm sorry."

He walks to the door again, and again, I drive forward.

"Summer!"

I laugh harder. "Okay fine! I won't do it again."

He sighs and walks towards the car but of course I drive again.

"You said you wouldn't do it again!"

"I know and I'm sorry!" I couldn't stop laughing.

Finally he opens the door and I don't bother teasing him again.

"I'm sorry." I say when he enters and doesn't say anything.

"Save it." He says and I smile.

"Forgive me?"

He ignores me and looks outside the window.

I lean forward and peck his cheek.

Just as fast my lips touches his lips, I remove them and he turns to me.

I just smile and start the engine, driving us to school.

...

Immediately I parked the car in the lot, I dashed out of the car without waiting for Jaxon, but I didn't reach far when my hand was pulled back.

"Hey hey." He stops me. "You can't just do that."

"Do what?" I ask innocently.

"You can't just kiss me like that and run."

"Technically, I didn't run. I walked out immediately I parked."

He raises an eyebrow. "Without locking the doors?"

"You were in."

"Okay. How about last night?" He asks.

"What about it?" I ask back.

"Hathaway you can't just pretend-"

"I'm not pretending. You said how about last night and lots of things happened last night."

"What about the kiss you gave me last night?"

"What about it?" I ask again.

He groans. "Hathaway-" I reach forward and peck his lips.

I stay for a second or two before I finally pulled back.

Jaxon kept looking at me with wide eyes but I just give him a wide smile and turn to walk away.

But my plan is short lived when he grabs my hand and pulls me so close, my hands landed on his chest.

Now it was my time to look at him with wide eyes.

Our faces were inches apart and I could feel his breath on me.

"You see, I love that you're teasing and all, but please I can't take it anymore." He says lowly.

He puts his hands around my waist and pulls me closer.

"Now if you don't mind, I'd like a real kiss." He says just above a whisper and his lips just an inch away from mine.

Students were passing by but I didn't take notice of them. Of course they'd be throwing us glances as they pass but right now, I felt like I was in my own little world. My little bubble.

I couldn't stop looking at him.

"Now miss Hathaway, can I?" He asks.

I couldn't say anything so I just nodded.

He gives me a small smile before he finally pulls me in for an heavenly kiss.

And boy was that kiss heavenly.

When he pulled away, I was breathing heavily.

He smiles. "Now that's better."

He kisses my forehead and walks away. This time, leaving me shocked outside the school building.
