Boyfriend actually

"Hey you." I look up from my phone and smile when I see my boyfriend walking towards me.

"Hi there."

He walks up to me and pecks me on my lips before settling down beside me on the car bonnet.

"I didn't know you'd be here early." He says.

"I didn't know either."

But I needed to take my mind off things.

"But I couldn't wait to see you."

He puts his hand on his chest. "I feel touched."

"You should be. How was practice?"

He takes my hand in his. "Well, I did well in practice like you told me to, and I'm patiently awaiting my reward."

"If that's the case, let's get in the car." We stood up and entered the car.

"Where do you want to go?" I ask him as I start the car.

"I didn't eat breakfast because I didn't want to throw up during practice, so I'm hungry."

"Lunch it is." I drive out of the school.

I drove us to our burger joint and we had lunch.

.....

"You know, when I told my mom we were dating, she said she had expected it."

"She did?"

He nods. "Yeah. She said she knew we'd end up dating."

"I haven't even told my mom yet."

But somehow, that crazy bastard knows.

"I've only told Chelsea." I continue.

"I also told Austin this morning."

"And what did he say?"

"Eww." He mimicks Austin and I laugh.

"It's typical of him."

"Yeah."

We finished our lunch and left the place.

"Wanna hang out?" He asks me on our way to the car

"I'm kinda tired. I just want to go home and sleep."

"Oh. That's fine." He scratches the back of his neck and stops. "Summer?"

I turn to him. "Hmm?"

"Is everything okay?" He asks.

"Why do you say so?" I ask back.

"You were quiet through out the meal, and you seem to have something troubling you."

So he noticed.

I give him a small smile. "Everything's fine."

Everything is not fine at all.

"You sure about that?" He asks again and I nod.

"I'm positive. I'm just tired that's all."

He walks to me and holds my hand. "You can tell me if anything's wrong right?"

"Of course. You're my boyfriend remember?" I gently hit him.

"Right." He smiles. "Want me to drop you off?"

"Are you not tired? I can drop you off instead."

"Let me."

"Okay then." I hand over the keys to him and he opens the front seat door for me.

"Thanks." I smile.

He smiles back. "Anytime."

He closes the door, goes round the car, enters, and starts the engine.

"Destination unknown." He says and pulls out of the restaurant.

"Wait what?"

"What?" He asks back.

"We're going to my house right?"

"Just go with the flow okay?"

I roll my eyes. "Whatever."

Minutes later, we get to my house and he parks in front.

"Thanks for lunch today Hathaway."

"No problem." I open the door to step out but he holds my hand.

"Aren't you going to invite me in for tea?"

I raise an eyebrow. "Tea?" I ask.

He nods like it's nothing so I chuckle.

"Do you want to come in for some tea?" I ask dryly.

"I'm on a tight schedule right now, but sure I can squeeze you in."

I roll my eyes. "Hurray."

We both get down and walk inside.

From the moment I entered the house, I felt something was different.

The air had changed and everywhere seemed a little less silent.

"Is something wrong?" Jaxon asks when he sees I've stopped.

"I think-"

"Who's there?!" A voice shouts and a man comes to stand at the end of the hallway.

Standing there with his hazel eyes, rough black hair, blue sweatshirt and shorts and a wooden stick in hand, stood my uncle.

"Uncle Charles!!!" I shout and run to his side.

I give him a big hug when I get to his side, and he staggers a little to the back.

"Woah kiddo! You've gotten bigger!" He says when I pull away.

"And you're still the same." I hit his shoulder. "I didn't know you were coming today."

"Well I wanted it to be a surprise." He puts his hands out. "Surprise!"

"Well I'm surprised that's for sure."

"That was the goal." He winks at me and turns to Jaxon.

"You must be one of her friends." He says as he extends his hand.

Jaxon walks forward and takes it. "Boyfriend actually." He says proudly.

Uncle Charles turns to me. "Oh really?"

"Yeah." I smile.

Uncle Charles immediately pulls him in for a hug.

"Then you deserve a hug."

"T-thanks."

"She must've given you a feat right?" He asks when he pulls away

Jaxon nods. "But it was all worth it at the end." He smiles at me.

"The name?"

"Jaxon Prinston."

"Well, I'm Charles Hathaway. Her dad's younger brother."

"Oh. Another Hathaway in the family."

Uncle Charles smiles. "How did you guys meet?" Uncle Charles asks as we walk into the living room.

"We bumped into each other." I say as we all sit.

"Ah, classic. When I was in high school," He begins and I roll my eyes. "I met this girl and-"

"Okay, Charles." I interrupt him. "Jaxon has to get home early."

"I do?"

"He does?"

"Yes." I look at both of them. "He does." I pull Jaxon up.

"That's a bummer. But you'll be around for the dinner party right?"

"Of course sir."

"Then till later then."

"I'll see you later sir."

"Just call me Charles."

Jaxon smiles. "Sure thing Charles."

"Can I also call you Charles?" I ask.

"Baby steps kiddo."

"What?" He ignores me and switches on the TV.

I scoff. "Unbelievable."

I turn and lead Jaxon towards the door.

"He's nice." Jaxon speaks up when we get to the door.

"But awfully boring when it gets to his stories." I add.

"Leave the man and his stories alone." He warns and I roll my eyes.

"Sure."

"But again, I'd love to listen to them one day."

"Not today. I'll see you later." I peck his lips.

"Bye." He walks out and I close the door.

I walk back to the sitting room and sit opposite him.

"So how was your trip?"
