The Birth of the Doom

Alan had packed his belongings before he lay on his padded bed at night. He kept his right arm on his forehead and stared the whitish ceiling when he thought -

"Would Victor intervene and stop me from leaving the academy?"

He doubted as Emperor Victor wanted him to grow to his full potential so that he could attain The Blood Moon Core after the awakening of his core. He wondered if the emperor would let him go out of this academy so easily. He was what the people call - a special case.

As he was thinking, he heard some noises outside the window. He turned his head to the window, sat up and said, "Did you get the scroll?"

The masked man entered through the window just like he had entered earlier, and answered after bowing his head, "Yes, your majesty. I have got the scroll." He pulled out the scroll that was tucked in his waistband and presented it to Alan from both of his hands raised above his head while he knelt down and looked down at the floor.

Alan walked up to him and took the scroll. "Let's see what it says." He unrolled it and read the contents in silence.

After taking a full read, he rolled back the scroll and sighed. "So Victor is creating a new weapon to massacre the revolting Alabusians in the first province."

"Yes, your majesty. The research team of The Holy Academy of Nigrosian Arts were given the project to create that weapon," The masked man said and stood up.

"This scroll was a message to Victor from the headmaster to tell him about the successful completion of their creation."

"Your majesty, he has not mentioned the type of weapon they are making. How would we know what type of weapon it is?"

"Either we break into the research facility or make the headmaster tell us about it. Both are arduous tasks and equally risky," Alan mentioned and gave the scroll back to the masked man. "But there is one thing we know for sure," he paused and looked deep into the masked man's eyes. "Whatever they are creating, is a weapon of mass destruction." A glint of worry could be seen on his face.

"What are my orders, your majesty?" The masked man asked after tucking the scroll back into his waistband.

"Nothing short of now. What happened to the old man? Did you finish him?" Alan asked while he held his hands behind his back.

"Yes, your majesty. We have secured his head with us."

Alan nodded after hearing it. "I will tell you what to do with it…"

THE RESEARCH FACILITY

In a dark chamber, a few people with masked faces surrounded a giant brown translucent blob, with their arms parallel to the ground and palms facing the structure. A faint white light ejected out of their palms and fell on it.

One other masked person kept observing the readings from a distance.

"Increase the intensity of your spiritual energy," He suggested the people who spent their spiritual energy on the blob. The faint white light was nothing but their spiritual energy.

Apparently, there was a creature inside the blob whose silhouette was visible from outside. It needed a significant amount of spiritual energy for it to grow and break free. Also, they needed to feed their spiritual energy to the creature every day to keep it alive.

The researchers joined their thumbs and index fingers to form a triangle. It was a technique they used to increase the intensity of the white light, i.e. their spiritual energy.

The man at the distance could notice nothing unusual until he heard a low-pitched cry coming from the giant crystalline blob. He squinted when he looked at it and said, "Did you hear it?"

"What? I heard nothi…" As one other researcher was speaking, they all heard a loud cry, enough for them to stop feeding their spiritual energy to the creature and cover their ears tightly.

Suddenly, the blob trembled wildly with deafening cries in intervals.

"What the hell is happening?" One researcher asked while he covered his ears.

The man who noted down the readings just stared at the rock with his mouth hung open in awe. "He is breaking out," He uttered when the cry stopped.

All the other researchers turned after hearing it. "Are you saying that we have successfully created the weapon of mass destruction?"

"Yes, listen to the cry carefully." The masked man slowly walked towards the other researchers and the giant crystalline blob. "It is like the cry of a baby when it is firstborn."

He stopped in front of it, pulled down his mask and looked up. "Come on, faster. I can't wait to see your beautiful face, Doomster." He had given the creature a name - Doomster, the monster who brings doom.

"Be careful, sir," One researcher said when a few cracks appeared on the blob's surface.

The masked man who stood in front of it had a wide grin on his face when it shattered down and the dark-mystical creature came out with another deafening cry.

"Come, come, my friend. Welcome to the world of chaos," He said with a grin. "Your birth will mark my name in the history of humankind."

The creature had two heads with four eyes on each of them. It had a huge bulky body and had four arms with eleven thin tails full of spikes similar to the thorns on rose stems, and at the end of each tail, there were sharp blades. Its mouth looked like a gorilla with pointed overgrown canines. The skin seemed super tough from the looks of it and was white. It stood around ten feet high.

The head researcher turned around with a grin and addressed his fellow researchers. "Behold! You have just witnessed the birth of the strongest creature in the world."

Suddenly, the creature lifted its arm and hit the researcher. The impact was enough for him to crash into the nearby wall. All the researchers had their eyes expanded in shock when they witnessed it.

"This looks bad…"

Doomster roared, and suddenly, one of its tails pierced the chest of a researcher. All of them could not even react when it happened. It sucked every ounce of spiritual energy present in his body and threw him aside when he died.

"Run!" One of them screamed in terror. "Doomster has gone rogue!"

They all turned their backs and ran. Doomster cried again before its tails grew longer and pierced multiple chests.

"Aah!"

The screams and cries echoed in the facility.
