Chapter 2 knowledge

But Diane soon realized that faith had something very different in mind for her, because Gabriel called her the very next day asking for the directions to her church, and even though she learned that he was addicted to Steriods, hence his size, pain tablets, and sleeping pills and that he had stalker tendencies because he showed up at her house without her telling him where she lived they still became very good friends. Over the next couple of weeks, he seems very interested in her life. He must have asked her about a hundred questions about herself and because she wanted to know him better she had asked a few of her own and ended up learning a whole lot about him.

She had learned that he was thirty years old, the guy who was beside him the night she first saw him was his best friend Alex. He was the one Miss Lisa was talking about, the one who wanted to see Gabriel remain a sinner. She also learned that Gabriel had lost his entire family, his mother, father, and his identical twin brother. Who would have guessed that there once was someone who looked exactly the same as this guy, God knows the world wasn't ready for the two of them so unfortunately, he had to take one back.

She learned that Gabriel's family was very wealthy and so after they had passed away everything they owned was automatically passed on to their only surviving heir which made him a very wealthy young man.

He had migrated to Jamaica a few months after his parent's funeral because his mother's only sister lived here. He had then used some of the money he had received from selling his family's house and businesses to start his own business. He was currently the owner of three apartment complexes, it was four but he gave his best friend one. He also owned a fleet of coasters and a plaza.

The house he had bought and fixed to suit his tastes was so big that she would often get lost in it. He also owned three vehicles and a bike. She learned that before he got baptized he was a player, someone who uses women and then dumped them and that he has been addicted to all three drugs since he was seventeen.

That knowledge should have sent her running for the hills but she also saw something else in him, there was sadness, loneliness, and love, despite everything he had been through and all he had done he still had so much to give. Deep down he was a sweet and gentle person but life experiences had made him harsh and cold-hearted but the moment God intervened in his life everything he knew began to change, even his friendship with his best friend.

Diane watched him devote his life to God, her, and her daughter who he began treating like his very own from the moment he met her despite everything that he was going through with his best friend. She and her sisters had also helped him to cleanse his house or in her opinion his mansion of all unrighteous things like his porn magazines and CDs and good gracious there were a lot of those, she had never seen so many pornographic items in one place. The man loves sex that was a fact.

Diane also learned that he was the one who cooks, cleans, and did his own laundry and he was very good at it. Even when she offered to do them for him he would still help her with everything and they would have long conversations while they clean. She would iron and he would hang them up, they made a good team which was surprising to her because never in her wildest dreams could she have imagined being around much less doing anything with a guy like him. Some times she even got the feeling that he wanted to be more than friends but she had trump that up to her imagination but then he began taking her daughter to school and her to work every morning then picking her up again in the evening which made her the envy of a lot of women, even her employers.

When he wasn't doing that he was dragging her to Price Smart with him every month and he insists that she carry a trolley for herself. She didn't want to at first but Gabriel was a guy who didn't take no for an answer. Introducing him to her family was hilarious beyond words. Her sisters couldn't believe their eyes and soon even her nieces and nephews were treating him like a movie star, it made him uncomfortable at first but soon he became like a member of the family.

Gabriel was the only white guy in the church and because of his looks all of the single ladies in the church wanted to be his wife, even girls as young as eighteen wanted to marry him but for some reason, he wasn't interested and she couldn't understand why because some of those ladies were very beautiful.

A few weeks later she got her answer. Gabriel asked their pastor permission to court her, as in court her which was a slight problem at first because she had agreed to start courting this other guy a few weeks before she met Gabriel but in all honesty, the man just couldn't compete with what she felt and still feel for Gabriel, especially after they shared a very intimate night together. He claims her that night saying that she belongs to him and only him which made her beam with happiness but still she was skeptical, could a man like him really have genuine feelings for her? Or was he just playing her? She told herself that only time would tell but until then she would be on her guard.

That Christmas was the best Christmas she and her family had in a very long time. She and Jasmine spend Christmas day at Gabriel's house with him and his aunt. Alex came over and after exchanging gifts with Gabriel he left. Diane knew Alex long enough to know that he didn't like her, so his brief visit wasn't a surprise to her. Later that evening while Miss Lisa went to meet up with a few of her friends Diane, Gabriel and Jasmine went to Desreen's house for Christmas dinner with her entire family, and once again he was the only white guy in the mix.

Her family was hilarious and Gabriel laughs so hard that Sorrel came through his nose. When they got to his house later that evening his other friends came over and spend Christmas night with him. He had three other friends apart from Alex. There was Marlon who was a Jamaican; he was big and thick, not as many muscles as Gabriel but thick enough to be scary to some people, he was a very good mechanic so Gabriel made him supervisor of Alex's auto shop. People say that he looks like a gangster but he really wasn't, to be honest, he was a very nice guy. Then there was Mike, Mike was mixed, his mother was an American but his father was a Jamaican.

Mike was short and of medium build with low-cut curly hair and a round chubby face. He was currently the chief executive officer at a very respectable institution. Then there was Justin, Justin was born in Australia, he was tall and slim with short brown hair and green eyes, he was currently working with the tourist board and he also had HIV, thanks to his cheating ex-girlfriend. Diane liked all of them they were nice guys and a lot of fun.

Everything was fine until the day after New Year's Day when she went to spend the day with Gabriel at his house. He had to go on the road to take care of some business. She had stayed behind because she liked to walk around in his house and pretend that she was a princess in a big castle.

Gabriel's house has a lot of things she could amuse herself with, but her favorites were his Jacuzzi and his movie theater which consist of the biggest Plasma flat screen television she had ever seen, a minibar, digital surround sound which means that when she was watching a movie sound came from every corner of the theater. It also had ten velvet-covered seats and a massive black sofa. So while Gabriel went to take care of his business she stayed and soaked in his hot tub.

After a few hours of leisure, she had gone downstairs to watch her program on TBN. Alex came by and after blasting her with a few hurtful words he literally tried to rape her, while telling her that Gabriel was the one who sends him to do it. She somehow manages to get away from him before he could do her any harm but what he said cut her so deep that it left her feeling cold and numb inside.

Anyway, Alex crashed from his bike that very same day and ended up in the hospital very close to death. She had later found out from Gabriel that everything Alex had said was a lie. Something good did come out of all that though because on that very same night Gabriel proposed to her in her driveway, so she went from sad, cold and numb to literally bursting with happiness, but what Diane wasn't prepared for was the verbal assault she got from some of the ladies in the church. She couldn't understand it, they knew that Gabriel was courting her but Diane came to the conclusion that most of them was hoping that Gabriel would use her then leave her so they also could have a chance with him but to their unexpected surprise Gabriel had proposed to her.

Diane couldn't believe some of the things that they accused her of; she had to admit that some of the comments really hurt her a lot. The worst was when two of her church sisters accused her of using black magic to trap Gabriel. Diane couldn't understand how words like those could have come from the mouth of people who called themselves children of God, it was quite shocking, to say the least, but despite everything that was said and everything that they had been through Gabriel still stood in front of God, witnesses, and friends and pledged his life to her. He even sang to her during their first dance as husband and wife. He has a deep sexy accent, she loved when he sings to her, she even loves when he sings in church, and most of all she loved the way he whispers dirty erotic words in her ears while making love to her, come to think of it she loves everything about her husband.

Although she would never admit it to anyone, Diane had wanted to have sex with him from the very first time she saw him but because she knew that fornication was a sin, she had tried her best not to think about sex whenever she was around him and to her surprise that was easier said than done. She remembered the first time she slept at Gabriel's house, it was raining very hard and she couldn't go home.

She had to admit she was so sexually aroused that she couldn't sleep and she later found out neither could he. He told her that night that he was going to relieve her without having sex with her and that was exactly what he did. He rocked her world that night with his hands, fingers, and tongue. She knew he was an experienced lover because he told her that he had been with a lot of girls but the guy was amazing in bed but of course she would expect nothing less from him. The guy was good at everything he did. He is an excellent businessman an intensely passionate, wonderful husband, and a great father to her daughter.
