Chapter 22 Brainless idiot

It was ten am when Diane walks into the kitchen Saturday morning. Diana was in the process of giving Jasmine her breakfast while Dana washes the dishes. "Good morning mummy; I'm eating sausages and eggs and it's delicious." Diane walks over to the child and kissed her on her forehead. "Can mummy have some?" she asks running her hand over Jasmine's plaits. Jasmine picks up some of the food with her fork and gave it to her mom. "Isn't it delicious mummy?"

"Oh yes," Diane answered with her mouth full. She then went over to the stove and helped herself to a plate full of sausages and eggs; then took a seat beside Jasmine. "Where's Gabriel?" Dana asks. "He's getting ready for the funeral," Diane answered; then with a guilty look on her face, she adds. "Thanks for coming over today. I feel like I'm taking up all your time, you're already here from Monday to Friday and now I'm dragging you here on Saturdays too."

Diana rolls her eyes. "Oh please, girl; I would rather be here than at home with that ungrateful s.o.b that I live with." She replied with a scornful look on her face. 'Are you and Kirk having problems?" Diane asks with her mouth full. "Not really… I mean… I love the man but he can really be a pain in the ass sometimes and then he has these so-called friends who just plain out disgusts me and he's becoming more like them every day." She groans in frustration.

"He has picked up some really disgusting habits like smoking weed and acting like a brainless idiot in front of the children… I mean; he's their father, he should be setting good examples for them, what are they suppose to think of their father when they see him behaving like that." She put the dish she was holding in the sink and folds her hands across her chest.

"I know Gabriel doesn't smoke but does he have any bad habits that just plain drive you crazy?" Diana asks leaning her head to one side. "Not really." Diane answered smiling at the funny look on Diana's face." Of course not; he's as close to perfect as you can get."

A look of admiration replaced the amused look Dana had on her face as she listened to her sisters' conversation. "Not to mention drop-dead gorgeous." She said biting her lips as Gabriel walks into the kitchen. His hair was held back with a hairband and his sunglasses was on top of his head, he was wearing a classic dark blue suit with a black undershirt and black shoes, he had his choir gown over his shoulder and a dish in his other hand which he put in the sink and she mentally kicked herself for not going with him. She was letting him go to a funeral where there will no doubt be crying ladies whom she is sure will want to cry on his shoulders; crap now she was going to go insane the whole day just thinking about it.

"Thank you ladies; that was delicious." He said walking over to Jasmine. He kissed her on her forehead and tilts her face up towards him. 'Have you feed Lily yet?" He asks her softly. "Not yet daddy." "Then I suggest you do it very soon because one of your dolls is about to become breakfast." He chuckled softly as Jasmine ran from the kitchen and up the stairs.

"I'll see you later beautiful, take it easy today okay." He whispers as he kissed her softly. "I will baby boy." He then turns to her sisters. "Please take care of her for me." "Don't worry we will but we need you to take care of yourself too and please drive safely." Diana pleads with concern. "I will." After kissing his wife again he left.

Two hours later Diane and her sisters were sitting by the pool writing up receipts and watching the decorators work. Diana's and Dana's children were inside the house. The bigger ones were watching movies while the smaller ones play dolls with Jasmine and every thirty minutes Diana would go and check on them. "This is going to be a big party isn't it?" Dana asks.

"Oh yeah; three guys celebrating their engagement at the same time. It's going to be big alright." Diane answered. "It was nice of them to think about you though; not wanting you to hassle yourself with traveling. Some guys wouldn't care less, but you know what's really on my mind right now?" Dana asks. "No, what?" Diane inquired. "The fact that along with all his other businesses Gabriel still found the time to write up and sign seventy rent receipts every single month, it's just crazy," Dana said shaking her head.

"It actually doesn't surprise me that you're sitting there thinking about my husband because if you weren't thinking about him you would be talking about him," Diane said laughing. "But you forgot to mention the receipts he also had to sign up for his plaza, that's why I've been doing them for him for over a year now. I also organized them and leave them on his desk for him to give to the delivery man and trust me he has some very creative ways of showing his appreciation." She said with a wide grin on her face.

At that moment her phone rang and she answers it, it was Marlon. He and Mike were at the gate so she gave Dana the gate control so she could go let them in. "You know; that's what I'm talking about; he appreciates your help. He buys you flowers and gifts for no reason and then on your birthday or mother's day or Valentine's Day he showers you with even more attention, not to mention he always call you beautiful. Hi beautiful or bye beautiful and my favorite I love you beautiful. I mean that's so sweet, I would give anything for Kirk to treat me that way for even a day." Diana said as Dana sat down and turns to Diane.

"The guys said they are going to check on the decorators, they'll come to say hi when they're finished. I heard what Diana said and it goes for me too. I didn't expect Brandon or that pervert to do everything Gabriel is doing but I would've settled for even one gesture of love. I mean the pervert used to spend over a thousand dollars on phone cards per week but he never buys me anything or says he loves me or calls me beautiful, the only time he's was sweet and loving was when we were having sex." Dana said as she seals another envelope.

"At least you guys recognized a good man when you see one, I miss took Gabriel's acts of love for guilt, I can't even describe the look on his face when I accuse him of cheating on me; the guy was speeches," Diane said leaning her head against her palm. "And I can't believe you actually went ahead and accuse him after we told you that he wasn't cheating. And even if he was; I would rather go and wring that girl's neck than walk away from a guy like Gabriel." Diana said defensively.

"Well it's kind of hard to believe that a guy like him would be satisfied with only one woman but I'm doing everything in my powers to keep him happy and satisfied." "You had better because there are a lot of women out there who are dying to take your place. Now I'm going to check on the kids again, I'll be right back." Diana said and walks away.

Dana then turns to Diane. "So how do you find being pregnant with twins different from when you were pregnant with Jasmine?" She asks. Diane thought about the question for a while before answering. "Well, I certainly wasn't this big with Jasmine or had gained so much weight and I didn't have much of an appetite with Jasmine, maybe because I was so depressed but I'm eating like a horse with these twins, speaking of which, let's gather up these receipts and go inside for a while, I'm hungry again."

Gabriel returned home at four pm, he went an exercise for an hour then after cooling off he took a shower and got dressed. Diane finished dressing Jasmine then went to their room to get dress. Gabriel kisses her back playfully as he helped her into her dress and tickles her feet as he helps her with her shoes which had her giggling like a teenager. "How are you feeling?" He asks as he gently massages her stomach. "I just have a little back pain that all but I'll be fine." She said kissing his neck and opening his shirt she bites him softly on his nipple. "If you don't stop it will be about an hour before we leave this room." He whispers in her ear and she giggles again.

"Now if at any time you're not feeling well or you start getting cramps, please let me know okay." "I'll baby boy, thank you for taking such good care of me, I love you." "I love you more, baby girl. I'm going to check on things downstairs." He said pulling her against him and wrapping his fingers in her braids he kisses her passionately until she couldn't breathe he then let her go and slap her butt gently before walking towards the door. "Okay…I'll be down in a little while." She said still trying to catch her breath. "Good Lord that man's sexuality is going to push me over the edge one of these days." She sighs walking on shaky legs towards the bathroom.

The party began at eight pm. Gabriel was using some of his busses to bring the guests to the party and of course take them back home. By nine-thirty the place was packed. Everyone that was invited had an invitation card and a small crystal plaque with Mike, Marlon, or Justin's picture along with their girls on it.

If you didn't have one then you wouldn't be allowed on any of the buses. There were three guards at the gate to keep everything running smoothly, two at his front door to keep any strangers from entering his house. He had also rent a few portable toilets. Among the guests were people from Mike's workplace, workers from the auto shop, people from Justin's workplace, people from church, the guy's families, and their girl's families, not to mention people from their neighborhoods who they knew very well.

The decorators did an excellent job of lighting the entire lawn and around the pool. There was a massive tent where all the food and drinks were, the catering service brought their own servers to care for everyone's needs. The guys hired their own musician whose orders were to play gospel, love songs, r&b, or oldies hits. Mike walks over and taps Gabriel on his shoulders. "Thanks, man; this is amazing." "Well, you guys made it happen." "Not without your help we didn't." Mike pointed out. "It was my pleasure to help." "Well thank you, I'm going to find my girl." "I think I'll go do the same," Gabriel adds as he walks in the direction that he last saw Diane.

Food for thought

Unfailing is God's, matchless love

So kind, so pure, so true;

And those who draw upon that love

Show love in all they do.
