CHAPTER 12 – THE DON AND THE PSYCHIATRIST

CONTINUATION OF FLASHBACK

“YOU HEARD HER PLEASE DON’T TOUCH HER!” A woman’s voice was caught their attention when suddenly boomed in the hallway.

Hmmm………… Déjà vu.

All eyes on her, gaining their attention.

The young woman in her white medical coat approached the man who is looking so intimidating, wearing a very expensive suit……….standing tall amongst all.

“Sir pardon me, I know it’s not my business but please can you accommodate to the request of this young woman who holding by your men so harshly?”

Asking so kindly and with respect to the man in front of her, trying not to be sound offensive to him.

“Sorry? And who are you to order me?” Retorted the man…….even though at his age of 55, he looks younger what his age seems, he's looking like 35 years younger, with a very thick French English accent, you could tell that he has French blood flowing on his body………by looking at his appearance.

“I’m sorry sir if I came out to you very strongly, my apology for that………I’m Dr. Glaiza de Castro a Psychiatrists and an Orthopedic surgeon in this hospital.” Offering her hand for a handshake.

Don Fabean Arameda was impressed with the woman who is standing head to head in front of him but with a very respectful bearing towards him as well.

He knows he can be so intimidating…sometimes…..no, not just sometimes…..but all the time actually, regardless he would give respect to the person who respects him……..of any order in the society.

Even though with his stoic appearance he gladly accept the young doctor’s handshake, so enthralled on how she presents herself to him……confident with full of charisma and yet so humble………no sarcasm there.

Standing on him, toe to toe, even so, he is a 6 footer man compared to the surgeon’s height of 5’7”……..knowing in women’s standard height that would be tall, but this is a different situation.

Doctor Arameda couldn't figure out if he will smile or pretend to hate the guts of this young doctor.

But he chooses the latter; he smiled at her and suddenly patted the young doctor on her shoulder.

She was stiffening for a while then realizes that the man he is talking accepts and recognizes her.

“You heard the young doctor let go of my daughter.” Commanded his two bodyguards who are holding the young woman.

Unexpectedly, the girl ran behind the young doctor, and the old Arameda was shocked by what his daughter did.

The young heiress was hugging the young doctor’s arms and hiding her face at her body.

Doctor Arameda was surprised by her daughter’s behavior because he knows that his daughter doesn’t want anybody or anyone to be near her even a share touched would lead her to an unpleasant condition………..but here she is holding the young Surgeon firmly and locking her body on her, scared that she might leave her.

Glaiza was suddenly surprised by what the girl did, she’s like a leech clinging to her.

Abruptly the young doctor looks at the old Arameda restless.

“I think my daughter has a liking to you Dr. de Castro……..this is the first time, she initiates a body contact…..she doesn’t like being

touched, but suddenly she is holding on to you.” The old doctor spoke in shock to the young doctor in front of him …….still in disbelief and astonish.

“Since you are a doctor in my hospital and added to that……a Psychiatrist as well, then I’ll put you in charge with my daughter’s well-being since she needs a Psychiatrist. I’ll appoint you to be her doctor. I will gladly entrust my daughter to you, Dr. de Castro, because it can’t be denied that my daughter trusts you. She never displays this kind of affection to anybody even us……….her parents…….she never show this kind of liking, considering we are her family.” Don added, with sadness in his eyes.

Because even he and his wife have a hard time getting the trust of their child, no matter how gentle they are.

“What?!" The girl's shocked response, all happened so fast, she didn’t have time to blink.

In one minute she was just briskly walking to the Operating Room and now she’s having the responsibility of the Hospital owner’s daughter?

It's not that she doesn't want to, the fact that the old man owns the hospital she’s working and added to that she’s just a beginner here, it seems like it didn’t mandate her appointee according to the hospital's protocol.

She’s not questioning her capability……but as she thought earlier, it’s not right to assign her that fast.

Even if the hospital is owned by them, they can’t just decide who’s the doctor can and can’t attend to a patient, still, they have to undergo a process in which the doctor that he chooses is capable of doing the necessary precautions in favor of the patient.

“Pardon me sir if I’m stepping the line here……but is it a Standard Operating Procedure that I have to check first the patient before I could agree to your suggestion? Maybe there is more capable or let just say had more experience to help your daughter sir.” Disagree of the young doctor to the suggestion of the mighty Don Arameda. But even though she’s kind of disrespecting the man, she makes sure that her voice, sounds sincere and respectful.

You can only see admiration on the face of Don Arameda in the young Doctor.

Because he knows ... when he talks, no one will dare in saying ‘NO’ to him, especially if this is about her daughter, this is a very huge opportunity she’s giving to this young doctor and knowing she’s still new……….this is really a vast prospect to have.

“I’m sorry Doctor de Castro, but can I talk to you alone? In my office perhaps? We are kind of causing a scene here.” The Don suggested to the female doctor, he knows it will take time to convince her since he saw how righteous the young woman is.

“Ohhh…..yes, you are right but can we reschedule sir, I actually have an emergency today. I’m on my way to the OR now.” Asking permission to the Don, she doesn’t want to say no to the latter’s invitation however, she is more needed in the Operating Room…….where a patient is in a critical condition.

“Yes of course by all means….......patients are more important than anything else.” Agreed by the Don.

“But Dr. de Castro after all your responsibilities………kindly, please see me in my office?” Added pleadingly to the young doctor, looking so desperate.

Even the young Doctor could not understand the plea of the person in front of her, nevertheless, she agreed to it, either way, she has no choice but to oblige the request of the Hospital owner.

But before she even realizes, that the girl is still hugging her firmly, she was suddenly halted as she’s about to walk.

Why did she forget that somebody was clinging on to her, the Don didn’t even say anything at all who is just looking at them smiling at what just transpired.

Now Glaiza is so confused and kind of embarrass……….first to the people who are eyeing at them and second to the father of the young woman beside her smiling because of how she looks ……..seeing her so helpless in the situation she’s into………with a flush face, adding to that.

Now looking at the Don asking for help……..

“Tricia you have to let go of her, she has a very serious patient waiting for her darling, we already take so much time of her because of this fiasco you created.” Ordered the man to his daughter, who is still griping more to the young Doctor's arm.

The young Arameda Heiress just shakes her head, indicating that she doesn’t want to let go of the female Doctor.

“If you want you can come with me and wait for me at the observatory room…….you can witness as well my surgery there and after that, we can go to your father’s office.” Bargaining to the young lady who is still holding her securely not even letting an air pass between their bodies.

She had to do something or another life will be in peril.

He really needs to think fast, too much time has been wasted, and she’s being page countless times now.

But here she is, traps in a predicament, which is very difficult to escape.

“Are you sure?! You will let me come with you? You will not leave me alone with them?” Asking the Arameda Heiress, making sure that this young doctor beside her will not leave her be.

Glaiza only nodded ……… she couldn't do anything else and then she certainly needs to go to the Operating Room, where someone was waiting for her, in a very life and death situation.

Even if the girl is bloody, the father and the girl didn’t even mind it.

She removes her medical coat and covers it to the young Arameda.

"Just use this to cover that bloodstains in your clothes....I'll just ask you what happened later." With so much percussion she put her coat to the heiress.

Then again for the ninth time that day, Don Fabean Arameda was captivated by how the young doctor acted toward her daughter.
