~03~Filled Or Fooled

Julia's POV(Point Of View)

I woke up filled with graceful satisfaction because of the fact that Gregory has gotten all ideas of 'spicing up our s*x life out of his mind'.

Last night, he told me he's happy if I'm happy and that we didn't need to do anything I don't want to.

This is why I love my husband so much...He understands me.

Gregory's POV(Point Of View)

I'm having a meeting with the lady who was jilted this afternoon but apparently, she tried to take her own life so she's at the hospital.

And now I have to go there to meet her.

"Good Afternoon, Ms. Fox" I greet with a professional smile as I knock and enter the hospital room.

She's a beautiful blonde, with light pale skin and wide blue eyes, full lips that look perfect for kissing.

"Good Afternoon" she whispers, her voice hoarse making it obvious she's been crying.

"I'm Attorney Gregory Jacobs from Sullivan and Cromwell LLP. I'll be handling your case" I inform.

"Oh" she whispers and a tear rolls down her perfect cheeks. "I'm guessing you've been briefed"

I nod slowly, watching her like a hawk

"You think I could win¿" she asks in a shaky voice.

"Of course" I mutter confidently.

Tears keep rolling down her perfect cheeks until I can't take the sight anymore.

"Why are you crying?" I say loudly making her flinch a little.

"I..I love him" she whispers.

"If you're planning to win thus case I suggest you put a 'd' behind that word. Look, he didn't love you. Now, you need to suck it up and get your shit together." I almost yell at her.

It works though. She wipes her tear with the hospital gown and says "You're right"

I nod and fish out a handkerchief from one of my pockets and hand it to her.

"Thanks" she whispers and I respond with a subtle nod.

My first inclination is to get down to business and discuss the case but something-maybe human pity- stops me from doing that.

I move closer to her and somehow end up sitting on her tiny hospital bed with her and we start talking.

Not about work..or her case or anything like that.

And at the end of that meeting, I hadn't achieved any of the things I came here for.

Instead I made a friend in my client-a very unprofessional thing to do-and achieved knowing her and close to everything about her.

Apparently, her parents died in a car accident when she was 19, subjecting her to a life of depression.

She worked several part time jobs while she completed college and now owns one of the most popular real estate company in the States.

She's wealthy and successful but desperately needs to experience love which is why she ends up falling for fraudsters every time.

I got so interested that even back in my office, thoughts of her never left my head. I type 'Celine Fox' in the Google search engine.

The only thing in my head was Celine Fox. Celine Fox. Celine Fox. Celine. Celine. Celine Fox.
