SECHS

The big day arrived: the Inauguration. I purchased this enthralling ball gown in the Cinderella-style, but I chose rose gold instead of blue because the colors suggested were silver and gold. I changed the color to rose gold.

It has a glitter lace print on a layered tulle silhouette, a plunging v-neckline with an illusion inset, and a sleeveless bodice textured with sequins. The illusion plunge accents grace the sides, and a plunging v-styled back complements the pleated A-line silhouette.

I wore it with gold pumps that matched the gown. I strode down to my house's gate as a designated driver picked me up; it was for my safety and to avoid any mishaps or errors.

"Good Evening Miss Chen; we appreciate your presence this evening." I smiled, then he opened the door and guided me into a car, "Good Evening to you as well," he smiled back and drove away.

The car came to a halt. I believe we are currently at the Yemanora. The Yemanora is a temple in Ylury that is used for Inauguration purposes. The Noble Lord rules over the land of Ylury.

The current ruling house is the House of Schwarzburg. Lord is the name of the Noble Lord's son. When his father dies or retires, the Lord assumes his father's position. In the case of the current Lord, I believe the most recent Noble Lord decided to give his position. The Noble Lord's family owns everything in Ylury. They benefit from crops, villages, and even peasants who work for them.

They have the power to own people even if they do not want to. Some peasants or low-born people are considered free and can start carpentry, baking, or even blacksmithing. They can if they have the funds. Furthermore, they should have a good education and read and write. Otherwise, you must submit to the Lordship.

As one would expect from the House of Lords, every detail was perfect. It is a Grand Gala in terms of interior and exterior design. I feel the sophisticated air that gives off a no-peasant entry atmosphere when I mix silver and gold. I suddenly felt like a small pebble that no one would dare to step on.

"Hi, there, little MeiMei," said Danielle Ross, Honorable Speaker Dante Ross's wife. She was as stunning as she had always been. She looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder metallic gold ball gown with a v-neck that showed off her skin.

I adore her, and she is similar to Honorable Ross in that she is sweet, caring, and a best friend material who does not judge people based on their social status. They are a perfect match—a match made in heaven. In my heart, I felt a sting. I will never be a part of their society.

She directed me to the House of Commons seats. Everyone looked stunning. The gentlemen wore suits and tuxedos. On the other hand, the ladies were dressed in eye-catching gold and silver gowns. Tonight, we do an excellent job of impressing people.

We were told to take our seats; the Hierarchy was on their way, and their presence needed to be announced. The nobles were personally invited over by the next Noble Lord, in particular. Of course, I believe his friends would be invited regardless of whether they are friends or not because they are members of the Hierarchy. Furthermore, this is one of the century's most significant events in Ylury.

I was in the front row. An MC was standing at the podium from the entrance stage. "Greetings, Citizens of Ylury! Nobles and Citizens! In the coming minutes, we will announce the arrivals of every Noble Houses." Everybody applauded and bowed. We all stood up and began announcing the nobles. "Samuel Finn, from the House of Finn," a man in a black suit said. He has his brown hair down, with fringe bangs that allow you to see his brows. He has a slightly pointed ear and a perfectly carved nose. He has a crimson lip. He has a light skin tone.

Noble Finn fixed his gaze on me for at least ten seconds. They then took a seat. I shook it off and returned my attention to the stage entrance. "Noble Yi Yeong, of the House of Yi." He is dressed in a black suit. He has his hair down enough to cover his brows, unlike Mister Finn, but it is parted on the right side. He has ash gray hair that complements his appearance. His nose is pointed as well, and he has a pinkish lip. His skin is snow-white.

Furthermore, as strange as I thought, Noble Yi also looked at me as if something was wrong with my attire. Alternatively, maybe it is something to do with my makeup. "Sir Giovanni Van Amsberg from the Amsberg House," he said, his disheveled black hair parted to the right, and he was dressed in a black tuxedo. Looking at his physique, he kept his body in shape. He is in good shape.

They lived differently, according to everyone. Just because I dressed up a little today does not put me on everyone's level. Furthermore, they are honestly looking at me, as the previous two nobles did. Is there something wrong with this? As everyone sat down, I asked Honorable Ross's wife, Danielle, without hesitation.

"Pardon? Is there something wrong with how I look? I am feeling uneasy." I raised my hand, "Nothing is wrong, do not worry, you look tantalizing–"

As a new MC on the front stage spoke, she did not finish her compliment. I believe the Lord is being introduced as we lowered ourselves in respect. "Greetings! Let us all welcome, The Right Honorable Lord, Theodore Huber!" I stood there frozen; I did not raise my head first, my heartbeat was racing, and I was afraid it would explode at any moment.

I questioned myself and had doubts. Is he that Theodore? Theo? What about Huber? It is not possible; he is not a lord, is he? Really? What is a Schwarzburg? Are you serious? I became aware of the tension in the air after noticing it. I raised my head. There stood the man I had tried to bury six feet beneath the surface of my memory.

We looked at each other as if we were the only people in the world. As if we were trapped in a time loop. I was about to avert my gaze and shake it all off when I noticed Theodore smirk at me and smile at the crowd. With just that, the irritable Student Body Representative I had loved for seven years was revealed to be our Lord.
