When one morning a little girl is found lifeless on the shores of Lake Brook with her insides torn apart and missing, Joshua Dawson and Aidan Reid only have until the next full moon to prevent the killer monster from searching for its second victim.

They continue along the path from the silent city border, past the outskirts of the Mountain Side outer lane, towards the Central Side settlement. The place they are headed to is a row of houses in opposite, each with a fairly large yard. The path in its middle is quite wide with big trees on both sides. It is very late at night when they finally reach the Central Side settlement. 


Aidan and Josh pedal slowly. The housing is very quiet, the lights in each house have gone out. Only the dim lights on each terrace are lit. The streetlights are blocked by trees growing on both sides of the road, making the road slightly dark. They watch over the dark areas in the back of the houses with small children, as Josh tries to recall which houses. Then, Aidan thinks of the house where he met Miss Silver. Aidan asks Josh to follow him to the house, hoping his guess is right. 


"I think I heard something," whispers Aidan. "That way."
