After his HP and MP recovered he decided to go for the boss, why? Because he was frustrated and wanted to vent his anger but felt like killing more little guys was a waste of time. This time, he would use the same strategy, charge his Power shot, and then throw the Cherry bombs. He also planned on using the horns as daggers to stab if the rabbit came too close.
As soon as he started charging his Power shot, the huge rabbit woke up, it opened its eyes and in the blink of an eye, it was before Ryker. Its movements were too fast for him to see them. The rabbit kicked him with its huge paw and sent him flying, it also interrupted his spell rendering it useless.
[-20]
With just one hit, it dealt 20 hit points, meaning its strength was around 40. If he were to be hit with the antlers it would deal a ton of damage.
"F*cking hell, what is wrong with this rabbit?!"
He stood up just to be kicked by the rabbit again. Even though he still had HP left, he was really suffering. The pain of being kicked around by a giant rabbit was not to be underestimated.
'I still can't see its movements, it is way too fast.'
He cast his cherry bombs between him and the rabbit. When it came to kick him again the bombs exploded and dealt some damage to it.
[-6 x4]
"No way! How tough is this freaking rabbit?!"
He shot his pistol. He stabbed with the horns. He missed and missed. The rabbit was toying with him. It hit him but never too hard.
"Alright, that is enough! System, add all my remaining points to perception, NOW!."
[Perception +7]
Immediately his senses became sharper, it was still very hard to see the rabbit but it was a bit easier. Right now he was kind of regretting not choosing [Volley], it would really help to deal with the rabbit. He stopped recklessly attacking and just sat down to wait for his bombs to come out of cooldown.
He would then throw the bombs and shoot at the rabbit to direct him into the blast radius of his bombs. It worked for a while but the rabbit was also smart so it adapted to his strategy. He managed to make a decent amount of damage tho.
After dealing around 160 damage to the rabbit, it suddenly stopped attacking him and closed its eyes. Soon, the area around the rabbit started budding. Rosebuds came out of the soil and started floating around the rabbit
There were around five floating buds. They started shining green and then they bloomed into beautiful roses. It was really a magical view but Ryker didn't sit there waiting for whatever it was doing to finish. He decided to charge up his power shot now that he was not being pressured by the rabbit.
With one hand he held his pistol and with the other, he threw horns towards the blooming roses, but once they were pierced by the horns, another bud would rise from the earth surrounding the rabbit.
After ten seconds two blue lights pierced the rabbit dealing a huge amount of damage. At the same time, the petals on the roses started falling, but they remained floating in the air. Suddenly they started to rotate around the rabbit with increasing speed.
*Swoosh*
Petal after petal was shot towards Ryker, they were so sharp that when they met with a horn they just cut straight through it like if it was butter. Hi started sweating bullets, he just came out of a predicament and now he was in the middle of another one? Plus, it would take a miracle for him to get out of this alive.
He threw his bombs, he shot his pistol, he ran and ran. Dodged a petal, another one grazed him, another one pierced his forearm. He was full of holes. He was bleeding. He was close to giving up.
He fell on his knees. He had around 20HP left and it was draining slowly. His achievements flashed before his eyes, his regrets, even though he would just die in a game and nothing would happen, it still felt like hell. The rabbit stopped attacking once it saw he didn't have much time. It lost interest once it was sure he wasn't a threat anymore.
"Where do you think you're going?! I am still alive" -he screamed.
The rabbit paid him no mind. He didn't like being ignored and much less by a rabbit. He was Luca, he was a gaming champion, he was a pro, he was at the top of the social food chain, and now? He could not even kill the first boss of a new VR game. He was made for this, it was his destiny. He had a talent for gaming, people called him a genius.
"Come back here!" -the desperation could be felt in his voice.
Deep down he knew he was lucky to survive this encounter as the rabbit was way stronger than him. He needed new spells, better stats, and equipment. He also swore vengeance on that stupid rabbit with antlers for making fun of him. He was slowly losing it.
For the next couple of days, he would focus on leveling up and exploring the different functions the system had. He also needed to look for weapons and places to buy spells. He knew it would not be cheap but as long as he killed rabbits, he hoped to have enough for his necessities.
