The Monroe Princess

The lecture of one and half hours finished like a breeze, even Orion felt the time was passing by easily in her lecture. Not only was the Professor very beautiful, but she was extremely perfect in her job too. Her explanations were clear and on point.

As the bell rang it marked the ending of the class but none of the students budged from their place. Professor gathered her books and began walking outside when she stopped and turned back. She pointed to Orion,

"You, new student, follow me to my office. "

Saying her statement she left the room, leaving both Orion and students stunned. It was Huang who was first to gather his wits, he excitedly shook Orion and yelled to him,

"Idiot, Go, go what are you waiting for? It's dream come true. "

Orion was as stunned as the rest of the class, he suddenly had a bad feeling about it but he gathered his courage and walked outside quickly following the strict Professor.

As he walked out, the silence in the class broke like thin paper. Suddenly whole class erupted in chaos,

"Who is he?"

"Why did Miss Ren call him out ? she never called anyone before in her office?"

"I have never seen him before, is he a new student?"

Listening to all the students chattering without limit, Li stood up from his chair and calmed everyone down.

"Hey, hey listen! I know him. I'm his friend. "

Some of the students stopped chattering and turned to him to listen to what he had to say.

"He is a new student, I can confirm. And no need to worry he is a nice man, I, Li can guarantee. "

"Hey, Huang, what is his name?" Asked one curious boy.

"His name is Orion Trudger. "

Getting their curiosity satisfied, students began to chat with each other relatively relaxed, thinking why he was called.

Some of them suggested maybe because he was new, the Professor had called to tell him about his missed lessons in this course. This was simultaneously accepted by most of the students, but from inside they were green from envy.

Safe from the eyes of common students, some of the students who were sitting among the class, quietly turned to each other. They signaled each other with their eyes.

"He is 'Orion'. ?...."

The magic users confirmed this new knowledge to each other without raising any doubts from common students. Finally, he is here to whom they were waiting for so long.

The son of Terrorist, who is so infamous right now but to these young blood, he was no less than a springboard to prove their strength and battle to the older generation who tend to ignore and underestimate them.

Outside the class, in the corridor, Orion watched for the signs of Professor but she was already nowhere to find. He also didn't know her office. So he picked the direction from where she went and dashed straight in full speed in hope of catching up with her.

He ran through the empty corridor and took a fast curve to the right along with the turn when suddenly he saw her standing with her arms crossed there in the middle of the way.

He knew he was wasted because he was on too much speed and he immediately tried to stop his legs. He still couldn't stop in time and slipped ahead.

He was about to smash into her but he looked closely to find there was no surprise in her eyes. She was very calm to be someone who was going to be knocked, but he soon gets to know why.

Just as he was about to collide with her an invisible barrier formed around her and he recoiled back with much force, which literally threw him across the corridor to smash with the wall. He crashed and felt his back hurt with the impact.

She walked without any change in expression to her,

"You are Orion Trudger, I assume?"

Orion held his head which was hurting like hell and made himself stand up staggeringly. He nodded his head to her.

"Yes, ….."

But before he could say another word she lifted her hand to indicate him to shut up.

"Listen, I don't care who you are? Why are you here? Or who your father was? But if you ever tried to harm or do anything in this University. I will personally put a knife in your head.

So, Behave and pray I don't hear anything negative about you. "

Orion tried to say but she turned around and walked back without giving him a chance to speak. He suddenly felt that she was kind of bitch for threatening him like that.

He didn't even try to hear my side or anything. He suddenly had an instant dislike for this fan-favorite professor. It was at this moment he heard someone running towards him.

He turned his head to see Ai running out to him. She stopped and began to take deep breaths to restore her stamina.

"Is…...she...gone?"

"Yeah, but not before giving me a warning about personally stabbing her knife in my eye. "

She took one or two more breaths and then patted his back.

"Don't worry she is like that. She is from the major family line of mages, hence strictness and authority.

Moreover why the hell did you sit on the first bench?

You were telling her that you are hereby sitting like that, on the very first bench. I was trying to signal you to leave your seat for the backbenches, hell even the principal doesn't dare to mess with her. "

Orion rubbed his head to dull the pain and said in annoyance,

"Dude, how the hell do I know she is Mage or something? That Li made me sit at first, who knew that she would be Mage and Orion hating too?"

After few seconds of calming himself down, he asked in a low whisper,

"Isn't there some kind of cool glasses or specs which can help you differentiate between Mage and common?

I am ready to pay with my body, my life, my apartment for it?"

Ai giggled at his statement,

"If that thing is invented, I will be first to buy it for myself.

Let's go to the cafeteria for lunch."

As they were walking side by side to the cafeteria, she pointed out,

"Your dumb friend Li has announced your name to all the class. Congratulations, now all of the colleges will soon know within one hour that Orion is finally here on the uni campus."

"Sh*t, Ahh….. That man just made my days harder. "

"What exactly happened between you and the professor?"

"You want to listen to the full story of how I embarrassed myself in front of her. "

"Yes of course. The unabridged version will be appreciated "

Soon both of them got lost in the crowd of many youngsters who were spending their time of life in this university.

On the fourth floor of the educational block building, in the last office, a lady was sitting in her rotational chair with her legs crossed as she was in deep thought.

'Apparition or Something else. This was something she had seen the first time! Should he take help from her family records?

No, it is not necessary to take an unnecessary debt from them. It is far better to research by herself. '

Ren Monroe was fretting hard about her previous experience with this new infamous student named Orion. She was a mage from one of the longest lines of the mage family, the Monroe family.

She, like every mage, was gifted from birth in her magic and arcane arts, spells. But to the surprise of Monroe and other families, she was born without ability. Thus, overnight her status as successor dropped even though she was the only daughter of her dad.

But still, her status was not less than her successor due to her proficiency in the arcane arts. She was even without ability and was more than powerful. But due to her insult, she had forced her to distance herself from her family and become an independent Mage.

But the secret she was hiding was, she had an ability and a very powerful one but her maternal grandfather had advised her to never reveal it, only in times of desperation as her trump card.

She had spectral pupils. Eyes which when activated can gaze past every lie to the truth of everything, in records it can even gaze through the power of a God but that was a bit too far-fetched. Other than her Grandfather and mother no one knows about her ability, sadly both of them are dead now.

Similar to all others she too had heard rumors about Orion. She was a child during his father's terror but not so small but still, she remained unaware of that calamity as she was heavily sheltered in her family. But she had heard plenty of stories later to picture his crazy character.

And now his son is going to come to this uni. Therefore when she began to lecture her eyes naturally fell on him on the first bench. Curiously she tried to activate her eyes to see his Strength but to her surprise, all she could see was a blurry cloak around him.

As she concentrated symbols appeared on it which instantly began to burn her eyes in pain, therefore, she looked away almost immediately to avoid injury.

She felt that he was trying to prove or show off something by sitting on the first bench, with that power cloak armoring around himself, therefore she felt this douchebag needs one and last warning to stay on the line. If next time she finds him doing some other tricks, she will straight up burn him in the hell flames.
