Surprise

Orion was so lost in the shock, that he totally failed to realize who this middle-aged uncle was. When the fight began, he looked and there was only these two and himself who stayed in this empty subway.

"So, where did this man arrive and that too in such eye-catching clothes? He couldn't have possibly missed him…."

But too bad Orion was right now not thinking straight due to his mind in turmoil. Actually, his vigilance had been turned off the moment he realized that two attackers were down. He tried to struggle out to the present from his discerning thoughts but his own visions of madly punching that Japanese guy to death kept flashing in his mind.

The uncle who was waiting for the answer from Orion found that he was not showing any vigilance at all. The kid had lost himself in his internal conflict. Slowly, a mean smile formed at his mouth as he licked his lips in anticipation.

The tongue of the man was red, thin, and forked at the end like that of the snake. It was vibrating in the excitement of upcoming events.

Suddenly without any warning, the man with the speed impossible to intercept jumped at the Orion with his extended arm. Midway his whole right-hand skin shattered to reveal the red, hard leather-like skin and long sharp nails on the end of his fingers.

Orion smelled the danger at the appropriate time, which pulled his stunned self to reality in less than a second. But the speed of attack was one thing which even his ability couldn't fathom. All he could see were alarms that in no way he could evade this onslaught.

Orion in haste lifted his arm to take the sharp claw attack head-on. The red enhanced talon struck directly onto the Orion and the result was.

The bright red blood splashed as the Orion was thrown to the distance. He was hurled like a ball and struck the wall of the subway violently. The sharp nails had pierced his arm, leaving three enlarged slash wounds on it from where blood was flowing freely.

There was no comparison of strength between the two. Orion was like a child trying to block the adult's full swing punch with his minor arms. The outcome of such a thing was apparent. His arm along with now having only half of the muscle left after the slash, was also fractured due to intense force impact.

"Fast Reflexes!"

The man laughed as bit by bit skin on his whole body began to burn to reveal the inner red, hard leather-type surface inside. His whole human makeup fell down to reveal his true body.

The two black distinct but short horns on his head, black pupil-less eyes, and large pointy fangs. His whole body was red as a brick while his size was comparable to six feet long human being. Such a large muscular body was hidden inside the skin of that harmless fat middle-aged uncle, truly a work of wonder was his disguise technique.

Orion clenched his teeth in pain as he found that his right arm was rendered useless by now. Half of his arm muscle was shaved off by the sharp claws and the bone inside was fractured from several pieces. He then looked at the being standing in front of him and hissed in anger and pain,

"DEMON?!"

The Demon listening to him laughed loudly in his shrill voice. His laughter was like needles piercing continuously to the ears.

"Demon, Right kid demon. You really thought that these two immature humans would be here hunting you.

Tsk...tsk…..and here I thought there would be a challenge in hunting the son of someone who had popularity in our world too.

But kid, you are pathetic. You can't even stomach a kill, how are you gonna face me? "

Orion felt his mind burning in the fire of regret. The one who was here to kill me was this demon, not those two ninjas. No, they were here too to kill me but not officially. How could I have dropped my guard?

He tried to clench the chain in his left hand, but the pain he was feeling was unbearable for him to even move. He tried to lift himself to face the demon otherwise this would be the last moment of his life.

Just as put strength in his legs to stand up, a breeze passed over his body and signs of intense danger began to hum. His ability was practically screaming Death to him. He, according to his ability instincts, almost immediately turned and ducked his head.

Almost at that moment, the red hand pierced through the rock-hard solid wall like it was a foam wall. Orion felt the vibrations near his ear as the moment before if he hadn't moved his head, it would have pierced through his skull rather than the concrete wall. The cold sweat had formed all over his body, as he thought about the power of the enemy he was facing.

"Hmm?..."

The demon was shocked to see that he missed. He actually missed it!

He looked at the hard breathing Orion and a smile formed on his face. A mean idea emerged in his head as he pulled back his arm from the hole formed in the wall.

Demons were a terrible summoned creature, whenever one was summoned he would always first try to take as much liberty he could from his summoner and most possibly kill him to gain total independence.

They were creatures of the dark world and to them, our world was like a free unlimited hunting ground, so they were always desperate to come here which they couldn't achieve by themselves. So, various summoning rituals were invented and researched to take advantage of this situation by humans.

They summoned demons from their world here and in exchange for their labor they promised to provide them freedom afterward which was, of course, a ruse. After their work was completed they comfortably banished them back to their world with no intention of following with their promise.

For several centuries, demons continued to be fooled by humans in this way. They were aware of constant backstabbing but couldn't do much before the greed of freedom in this world. Till one day, one summoner screwed up the ritual process and the demon was able to free himself from his binding before signing of terms and killed the summoner. That day they realized that killing the summoner was the best method to gain instant and unlimited freedom here.

Demons that went rampant like this caused hundreds of deaths worldwide everywhere till Conjurers took the task to track him down and banish him personally. Therefore, it was quickly made a rule to ban the summoning ritual but people desperate enough still do this. To fulfill this ritual successfully, therefore one should be always alert, powerful enough to hold summoned demons down, and also intelligent enough to not get caught in the manipulative words of demons.

They were the evil epitome of creatures. Madness, evilness, and all types of negative emotions were like other nature to this race of creatures. They were always up for sadism as well as torturing the humans for their satisfaction. Clearly, this particular demon was not an exception to these sick dispositions.

He had given a simple task to kill this human, and obtain his freedom but now he was getting other ideas for some entertainment. He was not at all able to overpower that summoner thus, had to follow through the traditional way of completing terms to earn his freedom. Since he was practically in charge here, there are some ways he could pass his time.

"Oh, you have quick reflexes. I wonder what your ability is.

Why don't we discuss something before I kill you? Do you know who summoned me to kill you? Don't you want to know who is so desperate for your death? "

Orion sat back down after this close shave from the death. He was sitting with his back to the wall and looked at the Demon who was trying to talk with him.

"Can you tell me? "

"Of course, he never said anything about not disclosing his name. What about you? Do you want to know? Are you desperate to know?"

The demon licked his lips excitedly as his forked tongue danced over his mouth. He was waiting for his answer. He was waiting for his reward.

Orion, looked like he was making his mind while on the back his left hand was quietly twisting the chain to double it. He then looked upwards at crouched Demon and shook his head,

"No, I don't think I want to know. "

The smile on the face of the demon fell instantly. He was suddenly feeling annoyed, he wanted to see a face of anger, desperation, hatred on this kid.

And when he had successfully enraged the Orion he would have killed the kid instantly. At that moment he would be rewarded, the perfect capture of shock, anger, hatred, and regret on the face of a dying human, it was his favorite drug.

But this human was not playing by rules. The annoyance began to rise in his mind as he finally felt that it would be better if he killed this non-sport Human quickly. As he was making his mind for some other use he could extract, suddenly Orion made the move he had been thinking from the start.
