~Chapter 48~

An ear-piercing scream shattered the calm of the morning as Fon returned to the waking world. Mae, who was enjoying her breakfast while sitting fireside with Baas, cocked her head at him and smiled.

"Yeah, yeah, you tried to warn me," Baas grimaced, "really thought she would wake up then scream, not scream while waking up."

"Dishes are your problem now," she said with a slight cheer, as Fon began to rapid fire questions into the air.

"Where am I? What happened? Why can't I move?" she shouted and squirmed.

"Morning Fon," Mae called back, setting down her plate as she stood. "I can't begin to tell you how surprised I was that you came all the way out here to join us!"

Stepping around the campfire, she made her way over to Fon, who was now visibly trembling to the sound of Mae's approach.

"Where am I? How did I get here?"
