Elahemé (Mae) loved the life she shared with her husband, Jack and their dog, Koobs. She never expected that one day, she would fall into the arms of an alien, a half-blood Ech’latean, named Venificus (Ven), with explosive consequences. Carried through the Dailen Shaad, she quickly discovers that she is injured and trapped in a world that isn’t her own. Follow Mae’s journey as she struggles, learns and adventures, while striving to find a way back home.

The campfire burned on into the night as the forest came to life. Mae and Baas didn't speak much, wanting to enjoy the peace and serenity of that place for as long as possible.

Mae had been going over all the possible scenarios of the night to come in her head, and after much consideration, she retrieved a small tin from the side pocket of her backpack. Opening the lid, she removed a dark grey tablet and swallowed it back.

"Take one," she insisted, handing the tin to Baas.

"A precaution. The barrier will protect us against the living; that will guard you against poisons. Inhalants will have some effects still, but they won't last as long. I'm hoping she isn't smart enough to use them, but on a night like tonight, it's what I would do. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to completely protect against such things, not that she could reach us regardless, but I recommend sleeping face down, just in case."
