Unexpected Reunion

~Chapter 64~

Mae and Baas had finished devouring their Smokey Haro chips and were about to start walking again, when the noise of the city faded into hushed murmurs.

"What's going on?" Baas questioned as the crowed turned their attention to the large wooden pavilion at the east end of the arena, closer to where they were already sitting.

"Nimaro's about to arrive with the Queen and the other females," she replied, her pulse racing as the heavy violet drapes were pulled back, revealing a platform covered in cushions, occupied by the five mothers, and an elaborately carved throne, the Queen sitting upon it, Nimaro standing at her side.

As elegant as the Queen was dressed, in a lavish white gown of silk and lace, adorned with a set of jewel encrusted bands of gold, draped in fine chains and rows of pearls and cut precious stones that dangled like dew drops around her, Nimaro was all Mae could focus on.
