~Chapter 71~

After almost an hour of playing in the pool, Mae was sufficiently worn out, pruned and starting to chill despite the warmth of the water and cavern.

"I think I need to go and lay down for a bit," Mae remarked tossing the ball to Jasper one last time. "You should go and practice your diving with the others… or you can stretch out next to the heating stone with me."

"Are you staying for lunch?" Jasper asked, glancing towards the diving well.

"I am, and I'm going to be back tomorrow for a while," she replied as he walked over to her. "Go on. Get some dives in. And remember, Di'Shui made a mistake, so don't hold it against him. You can ask me anything you want, okay?"

"Okay," Jasper nodded as he walked with her back to the couch, hugging her before running to join Bej'salmah, Pemhe'bomah and the rest of the children at the well.

"You look terrible," Trie commented, tossing a towel at her as she laid down and stretched out.

"And weirdly, I feel amazing."
