Elahemé (Mae) loved the life she shared with her husband, Jack and their dog, Koobs. She never expected that one day, she would fall into the arms of an alien, a half-blood Ech’latean, named Venificus (Ven), with explosive consequences. Carried through the Dailen Shaad, she quickly discovers that she is injured and trapped in a world that isn’t her own. "You're leaving again, aren't you?" Jasper questioned sadly as he sat next to Mae on the ledge of the Queen's pavilion.

"Yeah, I am," Mae replied as she gazed out over the dusty arena before them. "I brought you here because I thought it was time for us to have a conversation about who I am and where I come from. It's a copout to tell you that I have to go because I need sunlight alone. There's more to it than just that, and I don't want to leave again without you knowing everything."

"Three days, on the 11th, but I'll be back in time for the Shepard hunt. This time it's just a short trip to wrap up some business that can't be put off."

Holding up his hands, Jasper began to fold his fingers them over. "19 days. You have 19 days to come back."
