The group maintained a fast and steady pace as they headed east out of the village cavern; turning north at the first intersection. About a half hour later, Nimaro slowed to a walking pace as they made their way out of the other side of the first large cavern they passed through, as the tunnel began to sharply twist and turn, and rise and fall; all while passing by the many forks and crossing numerous intersections that lead to the other caverns of Ji'vie farming communities.

"Are you still back there?" Jasper called out thanks to Mae's prompting, since she knew he couldn't see beyond the light of the crystal that was hanging from Hidai's pack belt.

"You aren't going to get rid of me that easily," Baas replied from what Mae guessed was no more than ten feet back. "Still enjoying yourself?"

"Yeah, this is great!" Jasper replied, even though Mae could tell he was struggling to stay awake now that they were moving at a simple walking pace.
