Jasper's Adventure

~Chapter 77~

When Nimaro returned, carrying the heat stone, Mae was glad to see Jasper was with him. Baas and her had finished clearing out the area, and the bulk of the setup had been complete, save for the cooking stove that would sit on the top of the heat stone, that Nimaro had set into the middle of their camp.

"I'll set up the stove once it gets a bit closer to dinner," Baas remarked as Jasper inspected the blankets that were laid out on the ground.

"Mom, are we spending the night here?" he questioned, his tone a mix between confusion and concern.

"We certainly are. I don't know about you, but I have no intention of riding 14 hours in a day only to end up right back where I started. The green blanket is for you. I hope you like it. I was told it's your favorite color."

Jasper smoothed his hand over the surface of the blanket, replying, "It's perfect."
