~Chapter 96~

Mae and Baas were half way through the butchering process, when Varmutt began to growl, his head swiveling to the pathway that led around the side of the house, his ears perked forward. Mae knew instantly what had caused the shift in his manner and set down her knife.

"Nimaro's here," she told Baas before running off ignoring his call to wait.

Rushing around the side of the house, eager to see Nimaro, Mae had forgotten how horrific she appeared; barely clothed and covered in blood.

"Nimaro!" she hollered out, waving her hand over top her head to garner the attention of the two figures moving up the path towards the house.
