When Mae opened her eyes to the morning, all that greeted her was the back of the drapes, and in the empty space where Baas should've been, a folded slip of paper. Grabbing up the paper, Mae rolled onto her back and opened it, reading over his familiar scratchy writing.

'I'll be waiting at the Strangling Arms Inn. It is closest to here. Learn all you can, but don't forget to enjoy yourself. Let our brothers spoil you. Front pocket of your backpack, buy something for the kid from me. I left before you, as it's best not to make Kyurn into a liar. Unto paradise; Baas.'

Sitting up, she twisted around and crawled over to her backpack that had been against the wall by her feet and opened the front pocket, pulling out a small roll of onu. Counting the money, she smiled to herself.

"10 onu? Really Baas? What exactly are you expecting me to buy him? One of everything I find at the festival?"
