Jellyfish

Mae stared at Kina as she sat across the table from him while they ate at the lunch he had delivered in, specifically for her or so he had confessed. It was a small, round table low to the ground and she'd been provided a cushion to sit on, set up in the lobby of his clinic, which he had closed for the day. He had told her that he wanted her to be as comfortable as possible, and until that moment, she had been.

He had caught her off guard earlier in the morning, starting the day by serving her breakfast, and engaging in the type of conversation that was unique to them; antagonistic and flattering. And while he had been monitoring her from the moment she sat down at his table, with at least one of his akress being in contact with her at all times, something that was both strange and intrusive, Kina acted professional despite the suggestive remarks and the mischievous nature of his expressions, once their day had properly begun.
