Elahemé (Mae) loved the life she shared with her husband, Jack and their dog, Koobs. She never expected that one day, she would fall into the arms of an alien, a half-blood Ech’latean, named Venificus (Ven), with explosive consequences. Carried through the Dailen Shaad, she quickly discovers that she is injured and trapped in a world that isn’t her own. Mae clenched her teeth, holding in her contempt for Kina and his lack of tact, while trying to think of a way to explain her situation to yet another person she didn't know and didn't know if she could trust.

"Mae's magic was altered due to an accident in the Dailen Shaad," Nimaro said, being quick to come to her aid.

"The Shaad? You've been to the Shaad?" Kiesin questioned with an unexpected exuberance.

"More like through it," Kina butted in.

"Kina!" Mae shouted while glaring in his direction. She'd never wanted to slap him more than in that moment.

"She's going to find out eventually anyways," he replied, handwaving her anger away.
