"Should I go and speak with Jasper inside?" Karanosi asked as Xial began to drink from the bottle in his hand.

"No need. He was just heading into the bath. He's going to be a while yet. You may as well, stay out here and enjoy the sun," Mae replied as she made her way over to him and sat on the foot of his lounger. "Besides, I think Xial could use the support you provide just by being here."

"While we wait for the drink to take effect," Nimaro said, extending an akress to Mae, and taking a hold of her hand. "I'd like for you to continue thinking about that day. You were in the council room, and Nicondis has just told you that there is a spy in the city. Are you alone with him in the room or were their others?"
