Mae felt the backs of Baas' fingers graze her temple as he forced her hair back, tucking it behind her ear. He was smiling, in a sad, but reminiscent way as his eyes remained focused on hers.

"I'd take you to the favorite place of my childhood if it were possible, but with regret, it is now far beyond my reach. Instead, I have a different place in mind, although admittedly, I did spend a great deal of my early years there as well. Any chance you're a bit hungry?"

"I could eat," she replied as he leaned closer, stealing a quick yet tender kiss. "Or I may be willing to skip food, at least for a little while, if you promise to tell me of the place now beyond your reach."

"If I wasn't hungry myself, I would agree," he said as she played her fingers just beneath the edge of his collar forcing him to grab them and pull them away. "Instead, why don't I tell you about it over lunch?"
