Departing for the Quarter

~Chapter 173~

Mae bowed to Rolduen as his men made a hasty retreat from the area, leaving her and Baas to deal with Iozin at the base of the Caridon tower when Rin landed with several of his men and surrounded them.

Despite being bound and gagged, Iozin wouldn't stop struggling, twisting about in the dust and gravel of the street, trying to pry the gag from his mouth as he shrieked and growled against it.

"Pathetic," Rin sneered, pushing Iozin onto his back with his foot. "Silence yourself."

Iozin cried out against the gag as he looked up at him, only for Rin to turn in Mae's direction, completely ignore his struggle.

Adjusting the collar of his uniform, Rin cleared his throat, and motioned for his guards to take a step back as he made his way to Mae and stood before her. "Is it true? Are you bonded to Nimaro?"

"It is," Mae replied, bowing her head to him. "I apologize. It wasn't my intention for you to find out this way."
