Elahemé (Mae) loved the life she shared with her husband, Jack and their dog, Koobs. She never expected that one day, she would fall into the arms of an alien, a half-blood Ech’latean, named Venificus (Ven), with explosive consequences. Carried through the Dailen Shaad, she quickly discovers that she is injured and trapped in a world that isn’t her own. For a moment the room was shocked into silence, uncertain of how to react. Nimaro had interrupted the inquisition and taken Iozin into the Nightscape without warning.

"Where did he take him?" Fon soft voice filled the room like rolling thunder, as Mae turned her eyes to see her rising to her feet. "Tell him to give him back."

"Pyde," Mae called to him, but he shook his head in reply.

"He will return when he has found the truth," Hexatep explained.

"What is that supposed to mean? Where did he take him?!" Fon screamed as she tried to force her way past Me'Lau, who did his best to hold her back. "Tell me Mae!"

"It means that he took him into the nightscape," she replied, as she stood up. "Nimaro took him in there for a reason, and if you'll calm down, I'll explain why."

"I don't want you to explain! I want you to go in there and bring him back!"
