There is a type of exhaustion that came with emotions that is, from the outside, indistinguishable from staying awake too long. Internally, however, it feels entirely different. It's heavy, and uncomfortable. Oppressive in a way that is near unbearable. Yet, as it is with extended waking hours, it makes one feel like laying down, curling up, and going to sleep.

Mae wanted to go back to bed. To hide beneath her heavy covers, tucked away from the world and all of the messy problems that came with it, and Kina being his blunt, tasteless, normal self, had made nothing easier, regardless of how much she admired his brutal honesty on most occasions.
